I Walked NYC’s Carnegie Hill Neighborhood Before Corona Lockdown – The City That Never Sleeps Was Out Cold On Ambien.
I’ve lived in New York almost my entire life, and nothing could prepare me for the startling silence and tourist-less streets. I’ve never heard birds before over the usual cacophony of cars, construction and sirens, but now the air was full of their spring songs. Which was cool, but totally not cool given the circumstances. I live by the Met, the Guggenheim and Central Park, and my neighborhood was always alive with people from all over the world. Yes, I’m a typical New Yorker and I’ve bitched about the crowds, but now the sidewalks were literally empty… Except me and a few others out for a last walk before #coronalife. Here’s sending all BPer’s my hope that you stay safe and you stay strong. Support the #WCS.
