Share on Facebooki don't understand the negativism about this, if you read the description of the authos says: "A photographer based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada who specializes in dark and horror themed photography".... it's clear that this is some of her work, and surely she had permission from the parents to do this,..., i think artistically, is very good....
I appreciate that, thank you :)
Load More Replies...Ok, as a parent....of an almost 13 year old "impressionable" daughter....who by the way just showed me these RAD A*S photos....I will say from a "Mommy Point of View" the following: It is not the job of an ARTIST to safeguard our children. It is up to the parents to either support or SUPPRESS our children's access to art in the contemporary world. My daughter is incredible artistic, mixed media....diverse subjects...etc. These inspire her just as much as anime watercolor yet in a different light. HARMLESS. Go ahead and demonize this artist if you will, but if you are worried about the access your children have...it is your right and duty to monitor your children. #EnjoyingCreepyArtWithMyChild #HAPPYHALLOWEENWHINERS!
Why why why does someone have to stifle their creativity because others are ignorant? Unfortunately sometimes bad things happen but that is absolutely no reason to stomp on someone elses creativity. If these photographs were something that you personally did not like or did not want your children to see them don't click the link. That is the glorious part about being human we can make that choice. Art in any form is supposed to start a dialogue and THIS is the perfect example of tjat
In fact here's a thought USE these pictures to educate your children on the fact that Slenderman is fictional instead of berating the artist for how they choose to express themselves. Why do we have to take away EVERYTHING that could even remotely be controversial? Let's start a conversation and educate instead of ban things
Load More Replies...After hearing about the girls who tried to murder another girl because they thought it would please Slenderman, I have some worries about doing this sort of thing too often.
While I'm not responsible for what unbalanced teenagers think or do, I do think there are far worse things available to teenagers than pictures of a man on stilts in a forest.
Load More Replies...This is awesome!! I wish people didn't get so butt hurt when seeing posts like these. I hope you continue your work!!!
I appreciate that, thank you. <3
Load More Replies...Wonderful images! Amazing use of lighting and framing. Seriously impressed.
Also seasonably timely. Great creativity. Well done.
Load More Replies...It's a cool photo shoot, but I'm personally not a fan of including children in horror.
Better not watch The Shining, It, Or Stranger Things then. Or dozens of other horror movies out there.
Load More Replies...I love the kids bored look as if they're thinking "don't you have something better to do?"
XD IKR? They don't look particularly bothered by Slendy.
Load More Replies...I think it's amazing! Obviously the children as well as their parents knew what they were signing up for and were ok with it. If the parents of the kids in the photos were fine with it then why is everyone taking such issue with the photos? It's the parents and children's decision and who are any of us to judge them. The kids don't look terrified so they must have been comfortable with it. You can bet the same people who are complaining have read Hansel & Gretel to their children (a witch that eats children is just as scary as slender man) or any other fairy tale for that matter. If you don't like it, don't look at it. If you think it's traumatizing, don't let your kids participate in a similar shoot. As far as the girl that got murdered by the 2 teens... That was not because of a fictional character, that was because those girls were f-ed up in the head. I personally would be stoked if my kids got an opportunity to be in such a creative photo. Keep up the incredible work.
Also I’m 11 so I’m scared for kids because it’s a very dangerous place as much as it can be fun.
I, personally, am not scared of ghost stories or horror movies but at night I am all up and crazy because I am so scared
Not sure how my response came across as stifling, but that wasn't my intent. That said, to play a blame game with regard to what makes people do the things they do is an exercise in futility and is baseless. Two teenagers committed a heinous act because of a story they read on the internet and it should be crystal clear the problem isn't the story, it's the teenagers themselves. What my photos inspire others to do isn't my responsibility, nor will it ever be a factor in what I choose to create.
Load More Replies...Why would they be terrified? They know who is under the mask.
Load More Replies...I'm not sure why it's not a good decision. People with guns shoot other people every day, there are wars being fought as I'm typing this - if young minds are as "impressionable" and "irrational" as you claim, surely we should pull all violence from every video game, movie, TV program, and YouTube video in existence. It's the same thing, isn't it?
Load More Replies...Then don't let your children see it and if you are approached to do a shoot like this say no. That's the choice you have as a parent.
