I Take Pictures Of My Parents Neighbours In A Tiny Turkish Village To Show That Hate Is Wrong.
I am a german photographer living in Sweden. My parents live in Turkey so I constantly float in between different cultures. Since the election of Donald Trump I read daily about prejudices, insults and increasing hate for people with a muslim background. This makes me both sad and furious. My parents, who settled down in a foreign, muslim country have been so warmly welcomed and the hospitality and kindness of the people in their village is just amazing. So I decided to take pictures of my parent’s neighbours to give these people names and faces. They are farmers, doctors, pensioners, nurses, muslims, christians, atheists, friends. I want to show that in the end we are all the same: human.
