They Told Me It’s Just Imflammation, So I Changed My Doctor And It Turned Out To Be Cancer

When I first heard the diagnosis, my life completely changed. I’ve had problems with health and especially urinating for about 2 years and my first doctor did not want to belive that my problems are worse than imflammation. When my problems worsened, I changed my doctor. I was immediately sent to CT and the results were disturbing – 3 cm tumor in my bladder. In less than a week, I found myself sitting in the hospital hall, waiting for my admission for surgery to remove the tumor, called TURT. This is my struggle throughout the hardest time of my life.

RELATED:

Getting my medical report while waiting in the hospital hallway

After being listed in my room, I suffered massive depression. I felt nothing but fear for this was my first time in hospital and my first surgery ever

Next morning I was awakened by nurse. The time of my surgery has come

Me after surgery. I’ve been drugged and confused; with urinary catether between my legs. The night that followed I suffered extreme pain with massive bleeding, so I was sent straight to ICU to fix the problems. I don’t remember anything, because I was under sedatives

A woke up like this, with analgesics over my head. A nurse hung my star of David there to make me happier for I was completely unable to move

Next morning I felt much better, but I was still kept under strong analgesics

First time dared to look down… not the best view at all…

My GF hung Israeli flag out the window to give me strenght. We lived directly opposite the hospital and this beautiful act of love actually made me cry

When I felt better, this book became my best friend. It became my personal favorite book!

After 8 days my health condition went rapidly better. Pain was gone and I felt stronger than ever

Next day the Nurse with medical results from histology arrived: the tumor was completely removed and there are no signs of secondary cancer cells! This was the best thing I ever heard in my life – better than any symphony, any song I heard before

Later that day I was visited by guys from local beer shop where I am a regular costumer. They brought me some gingerbeer, mate and ale just to make me happy! The sign on the paper says: “Towards new experiences and drink the life to the bottom :)” My faith in humanity rose 9000 points higher

On the 10th day, I was released home. Still a little confused, I shaved my beard as a sign of the beginning of my new life

After a moth. Some medical things are still in progress, but I feel like a new person and I’ll do my best to make others as happy as they made me with all those little things that helped me to survive this horrific experience of my life

Many thanks to you! I was stunned by that unbeliveably good that went all around me when I was in hospital. I never experienced something like this - you know, being introvert with deep depressions etc... but this turned my life toward new star. I trust people more now and I do belive that there is much more in everyone of us. Thank you again for your kind words.

Hello Efraim, I can relate to this so much. I lived with a tumor on my palate for over four years, visiting dentists, stomatologists and endodontists who didn't have a clue what that pink spot in my palate was until a dentist surgeon told me he was going to request a biopsy. For four years I knew something was wrong but I could never have imagined it was cancer, so when the results came in I collapsed. It's such an awful moment to discover these kinds of news, but here I am, two after having surgery, strong as ever. Never lose hope, it's only way up from now, with all the control and medical studies, but keep in mind that you're one of the lucky ones that got the chance of telling his story and that you're alive. If you feel down, remember there's people who love you and want to see you happy. Cheers for you mate.

Hello! I read your story and I hope that this is the end of it. At least the cancer one. I struggled with that viscious disease in my family - my mom had a breat tumor, my grandpa died of a tumor in prostate which gave metastasis to the colon. It's a very rough, exhausting disease, both physically and mentally, so I wish you a lot of strength, especially you will have to probably face a check-up every six months for the next 5 years + medicines that won;t allow to new cancer cells appear. But with love and friends and positive attitude you will get through all of it I am sure! Best of health, luck and everything good!

My father had bladder cancer when I was a child. It's an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone! Thankfully he's been cancer free for over 10 years now. The strength that you discovered in yourself through this will carry you forward as you share your life with others. Thank you for having the courage to share your pain. Efraim! SO happy for you! I went thru the same sort of thing! Misdiagnosed tumor! I too went to a different doctor. 20 years later, STILL AMONGST THE LIVING! I am very happy that you will be doing the same! It gives you an ENTIRELY NEW view of life and what REALLY matters! SO sweet how the nurse hung your Star of David and then your GF hanging the flag where you could see it! During tough times, it truly is the little things, the things that people do for you, just to let you know that you are LOVED! Thank you so much for sharing your intimate journey! It will be of help to others that are going thru the same thing! So...above the final pic, you said, "After a moth," Just wondering, are moths a regular thing for you? Or was it something different?? How did it taste?? LOL! Obviously just kidding, thought it was a cute/humorous typo. hee hee! Enough about all of that... about the beard...I MUST chime in here. Your face is FAR too handsome! And that wonderfully, manly, strong, ...cont....

Continuation: chisled jaw! It is ALMOST BLASPHEMOUS to cover all of that with a beard! I am sorry, but I just HAD to voice my opinion on that! There are FAR too few perfect, manly jawlines in this world! Share it with the world!! I would say (like MY opinion means ANYTHING!!! it doesnt.) If you feel you absolutely CANNOT do without a beard, I implore you...make it a sort of, "5 oclock shadow" type of a beard! So that your jawline is still visible?!?! (I bet your GF agrees, does she not??) Now, I have blathered on far too long! Congrats and continued GREAT health to you and yours! Ciao!

I was the 1% unlucky guy who get it just like that. I don't smoke, do no drugs, living healthy life. That's why I am now still cooperating with doctors - they need people like me to do some medical research. To find possibilities of how it could start in my case.

Thanking God for your recovery. And thank you, Ephraim, for posting your inspirational story. God's miracles are great. I am also Jewish, and it is good to see someone like you who is so proud of your Jewish roots. Good luck in all you do!!

Have hope. I have been through this same cancer three times. After the 3rd, they recommend BCG, chemo. You do not lose your hair. 6 treatments. I have been cancer free for 3 years. All is well.

Happened with my mom. They told it's just inflammation in her back. Now she has breast cancer and bone cancer then getting an MRI done to see if the cancer has spread to her brain.

My father had bladder cancer when I was a child. It's an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone! Thankfully he's been cancer free for over 10 years now. The strength that you discovered in yourself through this will carry you forward as you share your life with others. Thank you for having the courage to share your pain. Your optimism shone through despite your fears. May God continue to pour out his blessings on you and your life.

Thank you. Please, give your father all good that's inside you. Do not let him think (not even for a split second) that he's alone. I wish only the best for your father. He must be ok, and he will be ok! Xoxo

Once, my friend and I went to treat the dog. It was a tragic story. Do not use the services of a doctor: https://patch.com/new-york/midhudsonvalley/what-kenny-slaught

Wow you're a brave man! I hope you're okay right now. I have a friend who was just like you (even I knew about his condition when he uploaded his pics in the hospital on facebook). He has parotic tumor and just had his surgery. I really want to say nice things to him but I'm not sure what to say to someone who have been through a lot like you and him. I really hope things are getting better man. You're lucky to have a girlfriend and friends who supported you :D

??? Why would someone keep making selfies during this scenario and then post them online??? I guess I'm just way too old to understand millenials.

Ciao!

Was it a cancer tumor? And how did you get it, just curious

I was the 1% unlucky guy who get it just like that. I don't smoke, do no drugs, living healthy life. That's why I am now still cooperating with doctors - they need people like me to do some medical research. To find possibilities of how it could start in my case.
