I’m Kunito Imai, a nature photographer in Tokyo. When I was a little kid, my grandfather gave me a postal stamp of the forest green tree frog (Rhacophorus arboreus). It was one of the “Natural Monuments Series” and I was very happy to own it.
35 years on, I took up nature photography (again), and learned that the tree frogs also live in West Tokyo. They usually live in the forest and are hard to find, but gather around a pond during the mating season. In May and June every year, I go to the secret pond to photograph my grandpa’s frogs.

Share on FacebookKunito, I love the pictures of your grandfather's frogs! Those sleepy eyes and solemn faces are delightful. I never knew frogs could display personality. (Or should that be froganality?)
