A few weeks ago I visited this amazing Asylum in Italy. The asylum was designed in 1789 and the work was completed in the early 1800s. The King of Sardinia opened the church building for the Sons of the Militaries in 1834.
Since 1870 the facility has hosted the asylum with availability for about 200 patients. During the 1900s three new pavilions were built. The asylum was closed in 1981. In the main building there still is some mental health care equipment preserved.
