Tribal life is fading with the invasion of the modern lifestyle. Kenya is one of the most advanced African countries and one can notice clearly that tribes are affected by globalization.

In this series, I am showing the beauty of cultural diversity and how fashion is playing a key role in showing the uniqueness of each tribe.

I've posted on Bored Panda previously and had photographed other tribes too. If you are interested you can find more posts that are similar to this one by clicking here, and here.

His head and chest look amazing but my eyes aren't used to this original angle with whom the photographer took the pic of his arm. It looks weird to me.

There has been a study that shows traditional hunter gather tribes people age slower than westerners and are mentally much more acute than older people in western societies. There is much speculation as to why that might be.

No clue why anyone 'downvoted' Dorothy Cloud. She's correct! If I could get my kiddo off the gamebox/tv to do something crafty/creative, it'd be awesome. It's just not Western culture, sadly..

Why do they put mud on their hair? It's only for beauty or it has a practical purpose, too?

I believe that it protects their hair from the sun and there are minerals in the mud to almost condition it. I'm not 100% positive but I think I remember reading that.

what is the significance of the accessories they r wearing? in every photo it's different. does it have to do with seniority, accomplishments and honor? it seems, the older they become, the heavier their accessories become. also, they are all so intricate and beautiful!

They signify social and marital status. And how many sons you have. If I remember correctly, even the order in which you've given birth. Like if your firstborn was a boy, the pattern will be different than a boy born after a girl. There are also ceremonial reasons as well, like for weddings.

I could be wrong, but it might be ochre that's in the clay earth around that area. In Namibia I think it's called Otjize, it's used as protection and for hygienic purposes (not much water available for washing, so the mixture flakes off and takes dirt and dead skin with it).
