A Dog Who Vanished Without A Trace 7 Years Ago Finally Reappeared, And I Did His Photoshoot

The photos below show Border Collies, Sam and Billie (with the blue eye), but before we go any further, let’s wind the clock back 10 years or so.

Sammy was a cute, fluffy, 6-month-old Border Collie pup mooching around his family’s front yard. All the neighbours knew him and he was well loved by Nikki and Simon.

But something happened that day and Sam disappeared without a trace from the front yard, and nobody saw anything. A little while later they welcomed into their home another Border Collie whose owners could no longer keep him, and Billie joined their family, and life went on. After 7 years, owners received a phone call from WISH Animal Rescue to tell them that their dog Sam was currently at Foothills Animal Hospital.

There was a gentle wisdom that washed over us from Sam during his photo shoot with us at the Perth dog beach, and even with the neglect he suffered at the hands of humans, he didn’t hesitate trotting over to us the second we got out of the car, bum and tail wagging, asking for a pat. He is now 10-years-old and Billie is 9. He’s deaf and a bit wobbly on his feet and he looks older than his 10 years with what he’s been through, but he is utterly charming in every way.

A microchip doesn't help if someone steals your dog out of the front yard. I'm not sure where they lived, but over here dogs do get stolen, especially young and/or little cute ones. You get 300€ for a cute mix, more for a pure bred. The poor dog - so many years of abuse and neglect :-( Thank God, he has a few good years in the end.

Those injuries are horrid!! But at the same time, I'm so happy you found Sam in the end. You guys were so lucky!! My neighbors dog escaped from their back yard yesterday and I'm not certain she has been found. She's an old Staffy who is new to the family (passed down from a relative that could no longer take care of her). She escaped an hour or so before nightfall, which sucked for the family, and no there's extremely bad storms planned. I'm hoping she'll be found and okay again.

If not for the registered micro-chip, this could of ended badly because of his injuries. He's a lucky dog :)

So sad story. After losing your dog and after 10 years you found your dog without an ears and eyes so sad... If Sam could only speak the dog can tell what happen. but of course unfortunately not. Thank god Sam came back. Just wondering how Sam disappeared? just curious. maybe the front yard was open air. and then Sam run out in street to walk around but sadly Sam was lost and that's the moment Sam doesn't know how to get back.

He was surrended to the rescue by somebody.
