Kitten Rescue was founded in the spring of 1997 and has grown to become one of the largest and most respected animal welfare groups in Los Angeles. We are a non-profit, totally volunteer run organization devoted to finding loving new homes for unwanted cats and kittens. Kitten Rescue volunteers place approximately 1,000 cats and kittens into new homes every year. Since its inception, Kitten Rescue has rescued and placed over 10,000 cats into loving homes.
The recently opened Kitten Rescue nursery is dedicated to saving the most helpless victims of the cat crisis, which are unweaned, orphaned kittens. In LA city and county shelters, these helpless babies are the first to be euthanized unless a foster can be found. The Kitten Rescue nursery will care for between 40-50 kittens at any given time, with the goal of saving 500 this year.
