I Made A New Version Of The ‘Origin Of The World’ With Paint And Embroidery
I create unique embroideries, head skull and faux taxidermy in croche. I’m crazy about yarn. This time, I mixed painting and embroidery You may know the painting by Gustave Courbet: The Origin of the world (1866).
Here is my version. The reason for this recovery, a gift for my father, a psychoanalyst. I choose this painting, because, for a moment, the original belonged to Lacan. I painted the body according to the painting, in acrylic.
Then I embroidered the plant decor. The canvas’s size is 25 x 30 cm. I really loved this project. I am thinking of doing other paintings-embroidery.
