I’ve had an interest in ancient history ever since my second-grade class learned about ancient Egypt. Over time my passion for things Egyptian blossomed into a larger interest in the precolonial history and anthropology of the African continent, including the relationship Egypt had with other cultures and civilizations in Africa. Although African characters are not my only subject matter (I’ve been drawing dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures for even longer), they are among my favorite recurring themes, not least because they need more representation in historical illustrations.

All the pictures you see in this post were created using the program Clip Studio Paint, which is my preferred program for digital art (though I am also familiar with Photoshop).
