Despite what you may think, this series was shot in 2016. My grandmother has worked on a farm her whole life and she continues to do so, even at the age of 83.
She wakes up every morning at 6 o’clock sharp, makes coffee, feeds and milks the cows, feeds the chickens and only then makes herself some breakfast as well. She works all day and maybe rests in the afternoon for about 15 minutes. She is always on the go, unstoppable. Takes care of almost everything herself, boss lady that she is.

Share on FacebookThanks Anja for sharing your photos of your grandma. They are beautiful pictures and captured the strength, dignity, and spirit of your grandma. We know life on the farm is not easy, especially from the eyes of we people who grew up in urban cities. But I truly believe your grandma, like many others who are living on the farm, has a respect for hard work and determination to live life to the fullest. Please relate my best regards and respect to her, and God bless!
Your grand-mother is a warrior! She does an incredible work everyday. It's sad that she can't take a break, it must be so so difficult to assume all this daily at her age. She really is a warrior. Long live your warrior grandma' !
This is amazing and your grandma is incredible. I like the b+w approach and you have registered many beautiful moments. Thanks for sharing.
In what country do your grandma live? I know it's not Romania but the life is very the same!
Not sad one bit. Obviously, posted opinion by people that never lived this life. No doubt, she loves the land and the animals; and this is all a labor of love. It is born from a place out of a deep respect for our niche in the ecosystem, physically, mentally, and spiritually. We are servant and master. Dominion is about privilege and responsibility: flip sides of the same coin. Both winners. Her work is rewarded everyday with concrete results. Can you say the same about your job?
Is your Grandma happy with her life? She is an inspiring, hard working woman! I love the photos- they are beautiful.
What a wonderful, strong woman your Grandma is, an inspiration to us all, I have the utmost respect for women like her, thanks for sharing
I love all of the comments. It's so refreshing to see people saying positive, empowering things.
thats wonderful. Living on my farm by myself and working it alone upsets most people. But it is freedom in its own way. Loved your photos. I can only hope to be as durable and strong as your gramma.
Beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing. I wish I could spend a day with you and your grandmother. I bet you both could teach me a lot.
What a beautiful lady your grandmother is. My Greataunt Berta was the same. She too lived on her farm and worked all day. She also was the most beautiful and wonderful person I have ever been privileged to know. She passed away some 50 years ago and I still long for her quiet ways and her love. She will be forever in my heart. Thank you ever so much for sharing your love of your wonderful grandmother. God bless you both.
You gave us a glimpse into the life that many still live. Thanks for reminding me of how good I have it!
