Deeply disturbed by Trump’s suggestion to build a wall, I drew a wordless picture book about Wall (War) and Please (Peace). “Peace, Will You Play With Me?” is a story about how adults build walls of separation that kids easily bring down through their love and innocence.
For even the toughest walls shall not stand strong when faced with a child’s innocence. And remember… as kids, no one was an Enemy. And anyone with a toy is Friend.

Share on FacebookEveryone's eyes were closed shut till the kids showed up. And their eyes were opened to see what they were doing isn't really worth it. Did I interpret it ok? Love the ending.
Haha.. that's quite a unique way to look at it. Never did thought of that! Drawing the people with their eyes closed was just part of the drawing style:) But the rest of the message does remain - that the adults are forming human walls and stood separated, until 2 kids and a ball brought everyone together!
Load More Replies...I think it's beautifully illustrated. I will note that it was noticeable to me that the absence of women and people of color seemed contrary to the message of breaking down the walls that separate us.
Thanks for the comment Alice! It was actually a deliberate choice NOT to include women nor different skin colours as I wanted to show that the people in the story are all the same and equal humans (same skin colour and same height etc) but only separated by the different-coloured uniforms that they wear.
