I started drawing mandala styled doodles several years ago as a calming exercise if I was experiencing moments of high anxiety. Setting up lines and repeating patterns would help slow my mind down and I would get a small boost of confidence with each one completed. They started out monochrome, mostly using black, brown, and the occasional burgundy. Over the years I started embellishing the designs, making them more intricate, way more colorful, and "glammed" them up with jewel-like shapes. They sort of take on a life of their own and become more extravagant the longer I go.
My naming system for each drawing is best described as whimsical and non-sensical. I typically finish, take a few moments looking at it, then write down the first couple of words that spring to mind. I feel it is another little feature of these pieces still being a calming exercise, a little Rorschach Test, and mind clearer.
I have mostly worked with pen and marker but I've started working my style of art into several new mediums. If you want to check out more on my Instagram.

These are all absolutely beautiful! It would be cool if you made like, a coloring book of these and then sold them, or maybe put a black and white version online so we can color them! Just saying... I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love it!
