I Didn’t Quit My Job To Make Wall Clocks

Nor I sold my car or took a mortgage. There wasn’t any revolution, I just keep creating no matter how things are going. Sometimes I imagine a slow motion rain of things falling from the sky – those are the busy days. But then the moments of uninterrupted hours of creating come, especially in the daylight, in total silence, those are the good days.

Sometimes I leave my ‘studio’ for weeks – the studio that is a shoe box filled with blocks of polymer clay and sculpting tools. There are circumstances that aren’t welcoming for art. For me, the progress is driven by passion and persistence. I keep creating because I’m an artist truly.

"I Didn’t Quit My Job" is a quite punny start...fresh contrast to the many "I changed everything, sold everything, gave up everything and became a whole new person, besides I am 100% self-taught and do it plainly for idealistic reasons." posting!

Exactly, my main reason to upvote the article :) All those sad clickbait stories, keep me from trying to promoting my own etsy shop on BP, because I just do it for the love of designing.

I am so delighted that you DIDN'T quit your job. That you have a job and pursue something which is fulfilling to you.

Creativity doesn't need a job. It needs a context to express itself - and our agreement, our will. It's good thought when we can't be artist in professional way.

These are wonderful but, yes, they look edible. Surely these techniques will work with Royal Icing, too? You have a marvelous sense of color and texture, Justyna! Thank you for sharing them with us. 😘

Thank you for comment! :) I sometimes watch miniature food tutorials on yt, but "edible look" must have the reason in material itself... sweet colors... kind of textures I tend to use.... And Royal Icing!? Why not to try! :)

Justyna, are you creating those lovelies from Fimo? Just beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I tried that once and it takes an intense amount of patience and a lot of tools, etc... You would think it would be an excellent hobby for a person with arthritic hands but it didn't work out for me. Keep creating your colorful designs, very nice.

Thank you SO MUCH for that intro. It's great to find someone who's truly pursuing their artistic passions while still living a life made beautiful by what they choose to see, not by waving a magic wand and instantly creating the perfect instagram one :).
