I Created Stick-On Covers For Bank Cards With Artwork From Homeless Youth
It’s 2017 and I was tired of looking at solid greens, blues and reds on my bank cards. Banks told me to get a new card every time I wanted to change the look (yawn). So, I decided to make CUCU Covers. The temporary and replaceable covers stick to your existing bank card. Me and my team have been using them on our cards for the past few months and the reactions have been amazingtastic.
Now it’s time to bring these covers to the rest of the world, so we launched the idea through Kickstarter and are almost fully funded in 5 days! Check it out here: bit.ly/cucucovers
While building our own artist community, we realized the growing number of youth artists living on the margins in major cities. As artists and designers ourselves, this was close to our hearts and now we’re using our product as a new medium to support such artists.
Our mission is to support at-risk art communities across North America by partnering with nonprofit organizations such as SKETCH Toronto, which for over 20 years, has provided space and mentorship for street-involved youth artists.
If you know of any organizations in your city supporting at-risk artists, please get in touch!
Please get in touch with me directly if you have any questions/suggestions, would love to hear from you :)
