It’s really hard to come up with an original project based around something that has been done hundreds of times. Nevertheless I wanted to give it a go for this year’s World Breastfeeding Week.

The aim of World Breastfeeding Week is to empower breastfeeding mothers and to enable protection, promotion and support surrounding it. The UK has some of the lowest breastfeeding rates in the world so I really wanted to not only help normalise it, but also educate people about it.

I don’t know of a single breastfeeding mother who has found it easy. From blocked ducts, mastitis and cluster feeding… there is no denying that it is hard, and yet not a single one of those women regrets their decision. It takes strength to breastfeed- whether for a day or a year, and this is what I wanted to celebrate through these images.

Since she was always fascinated by the art world, she studied Culture Management and Cultural Policy at Vilnius Academy of Arts where she expanded her knowledge about it.
