I Create Succulent-Inspired Home Decor Using Snail Shells Which I Found In The Countryside
Remember me? I am the one who is obsessed with succulent plants - I have already posted articles about my succulent ‘mania’ and this ‘disease’ is still developing!
Recently I have decided to make some pieces of home décor decorated with succulents and flowers (by the way, as you could remember, previously I made some ring boxes decorated with succulents and yes, some of them are bigger and can be used both as beautiful jewelry boxes and room decor – you can see them in the pictures). I supposed that the new home decor should be as realistic and natural-looking as possible. Our Mother Nature is very rich in different natural materials, so I chose two of them - wood and snail shells for my unique art.
A talented craftsman and a good friend of mine used the best wood to cut the wooden frames, in which I planted me polymer clay succulents and flowers. Since the frames are cut by hand they are the unique and one-of-a-kind copies and can be used either as wall decoration (they have a special hanger for it) or a table one – it can stand on its own.
Talking about snail shells decorations, don’t worry, I didn’t kill any snails to get them – I found them in the grass when I was in the countryside. For me, it was the first experience of work with such material. I was so worried that it can just crash in my hands. But it didn’t! It turned out that snail shells are not so fragile as I supposed. The best thing about them is that they all are unique – the beauty of nature never repeats itself! I believe that this décor can be a perfect Housewarming, B-day, or Christmas gift. Moreover, You can even use shells as unique wedding favors.
