I Create Mini Paintings Featuring Patterns And Prints To Curb My Fear Of Them (Part 3)

Here it is, the final set to this fashion print series. (No. 23 – 31).

It was a blast to create these little fashion prints and one day maybe I can have them created on fabric. That way I can wear them and completely cure my fear of bright fashion prints.

These 9 mini illustrations were was painted by hand using gouaches on 5.5 x 8 watercolor paper. Let me know which are your favorites from this set, and why.

Mine are No. 27 & 28. I love the shorter length of N0.27 and the different kinds of green leaves. For No. 28 I love the color combo of blue and white, the tiny little hearts just make me happy!

Oooh good idea! That would be a fun challenge. Considering though, I have no idea what men like to wear, I'd have to do a little research first. But, one day I'll try it! :-)

I love the last one. But I wonder... How did you develop a fear against bright colours and prints?

It's not clinical or an actual phobia in my case, don't worry . :-) Just for the longest time, I think I was afraid of prints because they just didn't look good on me. At least, I thought that was the case. So, I would wear solid colors all the time. And, anytime I'd create a set of fashion illustrations, they also were always solid because I couldn't come up with any nice looking patterns. I think the reason was, I wasn't confident enough to wear them, or didn't realize how pretty they really were. File this under weird quirks. :-)
