Reminds me of actors who begin their careers performing in theaters, but accept specific role types to break into TV and movies, then find themselves typecast for the rest of their careers.

I get that styles change, and I’m sure an art major could explain why the second is better or more developed. But to my amateur artist’s eyes, the first painting looks lightyears better.
