This Is Not What It Looks Like! These Giant Paint Blobs Are Actually Pencil Drawings
You may know artist Cj Hendry for her black and white realistic drawings, including a Chanel perfume bottle and Kanye West’s face on a $100 bill. But for Hendry’s latest amazing art project, she took quite a turn from black and white pieces to vibrant, color-popping art.
Titled Complimentary Colors, the colorful drawings were commissioned by the fashion brand Christian Louboutin for an exhibition during Art Basel Hong Kong. Even though the unique artworks look like big blobs of paint, the only thing Hendry used for the pieces was colored pencils. It took a lot of patience, layering the dry pigment, and expert handling of the medium, but the final realistic art pieces created were so full of sheen and viscosity, you’d never believe they are indeed pencil drawings. Keep on scrolling to check them out.

Wow. The skill needed here is impressive, if nothing else. As a lover of color, I consider these creations to be works of art, though it is understandable that others may feel differently.
