Husband Sets Up Weekly Date Nights Outside Hospital Window As His Wife Waits To Give Birth
Shona Moeller’s pregnancy has been a real test for both her and her husband, Bob Conlin. And they’re crushing it.
Shona is 29 weeks pregnant and due to complications has spent the past few weeks on bed rest at a Chicago-area hospital awaiting the birth of her first son.
Also, the coronavirus won’t let Bob visit Shona at the hospital. However, Bob is supporting his wife in making the most of what they’ve been given anyway.
The husband has found a brilliant way to spend time together by bringing date nights to Moeller just outside her window, 40 feet below.

“On March 23rd, Shona’s water broke at 5 months [into her pregnancy],” Bob told Bored Panda. “She had what’s called a preterm premature rupture of membranes, PPROM.”
In this condition, the sac (amniotic membrane) surrounding the baby breaks (ruptures) before week 37 of pregnancy. Once the sac breaks, the mother has an increased risk of infection. There’s also a higher chance of having your baby born early.
Bob said the couple still don’t know why. Sadly, this applies to most cases of PPROM.”It happened while we were working on our nursery. We had less than a 1% chance the baby would make it.”

Bob and Shona were devastated. However, their baby turned out to be a fighter. As Shona was staying in bed, days turned into weeks and by week 23, doctors considered the couple’s son viable. Shona was admitted to the hospital on April 13 and was put on bed rest until the baby enters the world.

The husband said he remembers the day before his wife went into the hospital. They were both sobbing and he was thinking about how Shona could possibly be going through this without him by her side. The situation was very sad and scary but they just focused on the baby and tried to make the best of the whole ordeal.

At first, the couple communicated through FaceTime and Zoom but that wasn’t enough. So, Bob started to visit his wife at her window. “The outpouring of love and support from our family, community, and clients has helped a lot. Sharing our story, our love and hope have given us that love and hope right back. We have a strong spiritual practice as well that keeps us grounded and connected,” he said.

Bob and Shona are both relationship coaches and this story is a perfect example of what they preach and practice with their clients

Load More Replies...It's shame that they have to pay for the health care so much that they need donors to help. Do they live in third wolrd country or what?!?
'He made that baby too' He contributed one cell with information on, and enjoyed doing it. Her body made the baby. But yeah, such a supportive dad, glad he was there for her as much as he could possibly be. Better than my partner who played computer games for the duration of his paternity leave
Shona, the mother, also contributed one cell with information on, and also enjoyed doing it. Her body didn't "made" the baby - it "only supports it". Baby Forest is actually "made" of 50% Bob and 50% Shona. No baby can't be made out of only 1 person's body. As a mother, you should know this, at the very least through your doctor. I hope your bitterness didn't pass on to your baby when you breastfed it.
Load More Replies...Just wanted to tell you all that I looked it up and he and his wife have a little baby named Forest! He did make it, and I think is doing well. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-8451909/Dad-did-date-nights-outside-pregnant-wifes-hospital-welcomes-son.html
