Throughout human history, photographs have captured raw, poignant moments that resonate deeply with our shared human experience. From the the desperate mother's gaze during the Great Depression captured in "Migrant Mother", to the jubilant sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square at the end of World War II, these emotional snapshots offer an unfiltered insight into the highs and lows, the triumphs and tragedies, of our collective past.

Instagram page by the name of "Pictures of Humanity" collects such photographs all in one place to share with their audience. Today we'd like to share some of the best ones with you, Pandas.

It is interesting to me, as an educator, to see and hear about many teaching styles and atmospheres. There are actually a lot of teachers in my family, so I have heard about lots of methods that were used during the last 75 or so years. My grandfather taught at a number of different schools around my state from the 1950s-90s. These were anything from 1 teacher, one room, state schools of 15 up to 50+ students, to big, well established, private schools in the city. What I really love to hear is the amount of opportunities the children got to explore the natural world in the past. They would collect insects etc and bring them in to study (one student yelling at her parent not to kill something because 'I have to take it in to Mr Hudson), have regular walks in nature, collect tadpoles in the creek, undertake challenges to find an example of every plant species the state botanical society said was in the state, go camping (in the actual bush, in tents, rather than in cabins in a park)...

and go on many outings to study natural features of the local landscape. Now, there is a resurgence of including nature and 'risky play' in schools, because for decades adults have limited the children's chances to actually get out there and explore the environment.
