Apparently I posted something around Christmas that got so downvoted I'm forbidden to comment on posts. I can ask a question, upvote, post a pic, but no comments. No notification or response from BP. Any idea how long I'm in jail?

if it says "you have been temporarily suspended from commenting on BoredPanda posts" then the ban will go away in a few days. if it says "You have been blocked from commenting on BoredPanda posts." then its permanent and you need to make a new account, and if that does not work then you need to use a proxy or a vpn, also I don't think you can upvote, try upvoting then refreshing the page and you will see that your upvote has not been saves

You might be in jail forever. My old account got permanently suspended from commenting. So I recommended making a new account. Always have 2 as a backup. In case one fails use the other. Also try emailing BP community. Not BP in general. COMMUNITY. They respond pretty quick. Good luck.
