One “fantastic” part of the internet is the fact that you can, at any time, see some of the worst opinions available to humankind. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but some folks really insist on takes so scorchingly untouchable that they almost become entertaining.
The “Hot Take Nobody Asked For” Facebook page is dedicated to sharing and shaming people who had strong, controversial opinions that really went nowhere. So get comfortable as you scroll through, upvote your favorite examples and be sure to add your own thoughts below.

I still can't get over the whole tariff idea for everything Canadian. Particularly power. Surely he understands that taxes and tariffs get passed on to consumers. That's how capitalism works.

Imagine Publicly Calling A Third Of Your Residents Trash.
Some people insist on posting hot takes to the internet, even when their opinions might seem ill-informed or downright dumb, because the thrill of instant attention and validation often outweighs the need for careful thought. In an age of social media where reaction and engagement are currency, a controversial or off-the-cuff remark can quickly garner likes, shares, and heated debates, making it seem like a shortcut to popularity.
For many, the rush of being noticed in a crowded digital space is enough to push them to share opinions without fully considering the consequences or the nuances of the topic. After all, no such thing as bad publicity, unfortunately.

I Don't Think She Realizes That Nobody In America Cares
If you saw Jon Stewarts interview with Carney. You know why.. He explained why Canada didn't get financially trashed in '07/'08..."we did monetary policy we understood".
At its core, the urge to post hot takes is tied to the desire for immediate recognition and a sense of superiority, even if it means sacrificing depth for the sake of a viral moment. Some individuals thrive on the adrenaline of sparking outrage or eliciting strong emotional responses, regardless of whether their ideas hold up under scrutiny. In a culture that often rewards soundbites and sensationalism, well-thought-out arguments can be overshadowed by those that simply grab attention by any means necessary.

This level of stupidity never ceases to amaze me. They'll say that the government forced them to have vaccines to prevent massive outbreaks of measles or polio and they had the vaccines but then there were no massive outbreaks, so therefore the vaccines were a waste of time. So close to understanding then they veer off right at the end.
There is also an element of performative identity at play. In a world where social media profiles often serve as a reflection of one's persona, posting a hot take can be a way for some to assert their individuality or align themselves with a perceived intellectual elite. Even if the content is shallow, the act of engaging in public debate or controversy can create a temporary feeling of belonging to a larger community of outspoken individuals.

No Child Deserves To Be Allegedly Mistreated. Every Child Deserves A Good Parent But Not Every Parent Deserves Children
This Didn't Age Well, To Put It Mildly
Generally, the drive to share hot takes, even those that are dumb, is less about the quality of the ideas and more about the pursuit of digital clout. When attention is easily measurable and public validation is just a click away, the incentive to participate in the echo chamber of superficial controversy remains strong, reinforcing a cycle where quantity of engagement often trumps quality of thought.

Ive never had one, not sure if put in the position I would be able to make that decision to get one however I am 1000% in support of women being able to make decisions about there own bodies just like men being about to make decisions about there bodies. I will not force my willingness or unwillingness to do something on someone else.
It's hilarious that he thinks we believe even for a moment that any woman would ever be comfortable enough around him to discuss that personal of a topic 😂
Load More Replies...And he goes around asking all the women he meets 1) do you support abortion and 2) have you had one? Because I tell all the perfectly strange men I meet answers to personal questions.
Come on, we know this guy's never met a girl!! But it doesn't stop him from mansplaining women to women.
I didn't want my abortion, I NEEDED it. I was potentially hours to a few days away from sepsis. My baby stopped developing at 8 weeks, and my body wouldn't let go. So yes, I support it. It's healthcare you t**t. Plus if you're not gonna offer adequate paid maternity leave and reasonable child care then there's no point in people having children just so we can struggle.
I'm a guy who has also never had an abortion, but I support the right to a choice.
He refers to adult females as “girls,” so he clearly has limited interactions with girls or women. Most abortions are a health care choice selected by post-adolescent females (women). Sadly, due to the predatory nature of some males, pre-adolescent (yes! on the cusp of adolescence, ovulating, but not yet showing obvious signs of development) and adolescent girls do become pregnant. With an undeveloped body, pregnancy is very dangerous, and abortion is often the safest option to protect the girl’s health.
I'm pro-choice and not only have I never had an abortion, I have two kids.
True only because everything after the first five words was unnecessary.
Maybe if there would be more s*x education and society would stop demonising contraceptives and s*x alltogether, the problem would be much smaller. And yes, I wholeheartedly support women's rights and abortion, I'm just from country where it's incredibly rare that abortions are needed because safe s*x.
That's the problem with no speaking with many pro choicers. Most haven't had abortions but value rights even if you don't exercise them. Like how lots of people who hate being in groups support the rights to free association and assembly.
How would you even know? Generally not discussed, especially with men. You simply would not understand.
I support abortion. I would have gotten one myself before I found my current bf and had the feeling that this guy was one for me. Now that we have 3 kids I still support abortion but I am not sure if I'd have one myself if I got pregnant again. Which is why I chose to have my tubes tied after my last pregnancy. I support abortion and I have never had one myself.
I'm ace, virgin and will f*cking kneecap you if you stand between my sisters and their right to body autonomy...try me b*tch !
I support it even though I have never needed it. That may be partly down to pure luck as had a friend who was on the pill and using condoms who now has a 25 year old son. If its not your body it is not your choice. There are millions of kids in the care system and if you can't give a kid a good home why bring another one into the world. No fetus at that stage is viable outside the womb. It is not a baby it is a fetus.
Never had one but still support abortion. So he can stick his statement where the sun don’t shine.
When my tubal ligation failed, doctor offered me the option. Having a baby more than a decade since I last gave birth would be... lifechanging, and not necessarily positive. I was over 40, working at a good job, finally able to go and do as I wanted. Then I looked at the two kids I already had and realized creating another one of them was not a bad thing. My failed tubal baby turns 30 this year. I am still waiting to be sorry I chose to keep him.

Why are people some people so self conscious about the word "cisgender?" It means "on the same side of gender," referring to a person who identifies with their s*x at birth. I would understand if somebody wasn't familiar with the term or was confused about it's meaning, but it was never intended to be derogatory or discriminating in anyway. People who make a big deal about the word are either not cisender themselves (fair enough), or transphobic in some shape or form. Why would they be uncomfortable with a word that literally describes their biology?
