I live in Dubai where temperatures easily reach 50 degrees Celsius. I've never seen anything melt like that

Phoenix is a very big city, lots of concrete and asphalt that soaks up the heat. As a southern neighbor of Phoenix, we are usually a little cooler in temps, but still have had our share of very hot days. We learn to adjust to the heat by staying indoors and running our air conditioners when we absolutely have to. I can handle the heat up to 100 degrees, anything over 100 feels like an oven when you first open the door.

Woah! That's crazy. I bet a lot of people are cooking things in their cars--or eating salad! I hope there are centres open for people to keep cool.

I'm in Mesa, AZ and I tell ya this time of year I am sooooo thankful that A/C exists. It's hell on electrical bill but that and plenty of water for me and my cat and we're alright.

Come and visit Nagpur or any village in Vidarbha, Maharashtra, India in April-May. The temperatures easily touch 45 degrees and yet nobody has seen anything melt like that. Stop joking AND FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF GLOBAL WARMING!!

Who in Mesa puts up a plastic mailbox? ROFL...I'm dying here. Yes, it gets hot. I keep my chocolate chips in the freezer just so they don't partially melt in the pantry. But I'd still rather deal with this for a short period of time than shovel snow all Winter. #choices

I live In Rajasthan, India (Thar dessert), temperature went 46-48 deg cel this Summer. Nothing melted, nothing faded.

I live here in Phoenix, I've never tried to bake cookies in the car window, but I'm sure you can. It's hot, but because you get used to 95 at midnight it just doesn't seem that hot. I was out today, it's 116, would I want to stay out there for any length of time? No, but if you get in the swimming pool, you actually feel chilly when you get out. I would rather have the hot of Phoenix in the summer than the cold of the northern states in the winter.
