Well, it is understandable that ppl are hooked on Starbucks...conformists all...but in Seattle in the 80s some real Italian coffee roasters gave Starbucks a run for it's money, and we could see the difference...Starbucks is just hooch, by comparison

Stop going to Starbucks. Be honest, you only go there to be seen with their cup

This is not something new. It's been the M.O. of big business for too many years to count.

And we ask, why regulation? If coffee, about the cheapest item on the menu can rip folks off. How, say a petroleum or insurance dealers.

But never "We have to raise wages due to inflation and higher living cost"?

I hate hearing the phrase “…their overpriced coffee.” Which coffee? They have so many variations. What they add to coffee “drinks” cost extra. Makes plenty of sense to me.

Even QTrip's (gas station) coffee tastes better the theirs.

Another reason why i make my own damn coffee.

Me: screaming every time republicans say we can'tt pay people a living wage because it'll lead to inflation. OR SOMEONE AT THE TOP CAN MAKE ONE OR TWO LESS MILLION

We as a country really need to STOP consumerism and allowing this type of b.s. stop giving Starbucks, Walmart, McDonald's, and the rest money until they pay living wages and stop paying the ceos millions while paying the very ones making them that money pennies. I'd we all stop spending, they still have to pay their employees, but they will see we aren't allowing their capitalist asses to blame "inflation" for their GREED! wake up world! STOP GIVING CORPORATIONS YOUR MONEY

At the job I worked for, they stopped giving us overtime because it meant that the corporate workers didn't get their bonus pays. Don't promise overtime if it's not possible and don't promise bonuses if they're complicates to get and not assured. Doesn't help with the fact that the company does success sharing too

Noticed this post is full of people who don't understand math or economics, thought I'd chime in. A 5.8M raise would have zero impact on the price of coffee. Like .01 from each cup sold would still be way more than his whole salary. Inflation and supply chain issues are real and effecting every company, and cutting their profits so you don't have to pay an extra .25 for a $6 coffee is a huge disservice to the every day people who invest their money in sbux and rely in that ceo to do whatever he has to to increase the value of the company. Oh and become no one looks into the actual research. Raising minimum wage is shown to have no real effect on poverty levels.

I like their vanilla Frappuccino but I can manage without it.

How about "doing away" with paper cups, but actually just charging extra for paper cups if a customer requests one. Disguising money-grabbing as saving the planet.

Imagine the price rise when they will pay decent wages.
