Wrong. No "morons" stopped "golden rice". It did not work as promised (like many other Monsanto products). And, no, the original corn (from teosinte) was not GMO. The Central American folk that pulled off this feat had no knowledge of genes, much less the technology to manipulate them. Oh, I guess you bought the Monsanto BS that grafting two trees together is GMO technology. Then, how did Monsanto get a patent on GMO technology as something new, never done before in the history of the world, so they were entitled to the exclusive rights thereto? Can't have it both ways, unless you suspend logic to swallow their doublespeak.

Monsanto has some super awful business practices outside of what your stance on GMOs is. For example, they have trademarked ALL of their seeds. This means that if you are a farmer and get Monsanto seeds, you have to get them next year if you want that same plant. You cannot use seeds from the previous yield or else they will sue you. Not they can sue you. They WILL sue you. Also, this includes if a neighboring farm has Monsanto plants and the seeds from their crop are brought on to your land, even by natural means like the wind, they WILL sue you for copyright infringement.

Golden Rice could save thousands of children from blindness from vitamin A deficiency. As far as wind blown seeds, google it and look at the actual case. It wasn’t what I thought and I started out as a Monsanto hater. If you’ve got a better way to keep the population of this planet alive, something better than modern farming methods, let’s hear it. DuPont saved 500,000,000 lives with the high yield dwarf wheat Norman Borlaug developed. Everyone on the planet should know his name and be grateful.

Monsanto is a monster. They create health problems with their lousy poisons. Corn no longer tastes like it should. We must stop them from monopolizing and manipulating our food.

There is a difference between selection and genetic modification. Learn some basic science. The carotene story is great, but it doesn't offset their murderous trade in proprietary seeds leaving farmers in court cases over windblown gmo c**p invading their crops. Or farmers in those third world nations you tout stuck in a rut of not owning their own seeds. They are monstrous, they don't care. Apologists need some BASIC understanding.
