Ohhhh The Left One Has Heart Shaped Nose!!!😻😻
Many people give cats a bad rap because of their perceived unfriendliness, especially when compared to dogs. But research shows that they make better pets than one may think. For one, cats prefer human interaction over food, as revealed by this 2017 study.

I'm Sure He Has Very Good Reasons!
Another study revealed that having a cat could benefit its owner’s health. Researchers observed a lowered risk of heart disease among people with cats.
As veterinary pathologist Lawrence McGill explained to Medical News Today, one possible reason is that cats don’t require too much hands-on attention compared to dogs. It then leads to lower stress levels for the owner, which decreases the risk of cardiovascular issues.

A study from the Fauna Communications Research Institute in North Carolina found that a cat’s purring can be therapeutic for humans.
Researchers analyzed the purring frequencies of 45 different species of cats, which is between 20 to 50 hertz. The findings reveal that such frequencies are close to the range of ultrasound therapy.

Many people prefer having cats as pets because of how much cheaper they are to own and maintain.
According to the Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center, having a cat neutered or spayed can cost an average of $145. However, the cost for the same procedure for a dog can range between $190 to $220.

Cats are also better at helping eliminate common house pests, making them a favorite among many pet owners. They are natural hunters, primarily preying on rats, flies, moths, and roaches.

As pointed out by small-animal expert Christina Donelly, cats are also innately cleaner. Part of their instincts is to dig a small ditch and bury their droppings to hide their territory from potential predators.
Most pet owners will likely agree that having litter boxes is much more convenient than having to scoop up dog poop from the ground.

I grew up around stray/homeless cats and developed a life-long appreciation and affection for cats in general. It’s so sad when they have no warm home, and especially so when it’s due to abandonment. They can have a beneficial influence that most people cannot fathom; and their positive effect on their human hosts can also be beneficial to the pets themselves. There are reciprocally healthy — some cat lovers would even go as far as to describe them as largely symbiotic — relationships available between felines (many of us see them as family members) and their loving and appreciative human hosts, including those suffering physical and/or mental illness. Also, I’ve found over decades that with our four-legged friends there’s a beautiful absence of some undesirable and distinctly human traits. Along with human intelligence comes the proportionate reprehensible potential for evil behavior, i.e. malice for malice’s sake.
Thank you! Every word you've stated is sooooo true! Bless you fir being a kind pet-parent. ❤️
Load More Replies...Rosie is the 12 year old cat who I live with. She has a peri-anál hernia, so basically a pocket right inside her bum where poo gets compacted in. In order to keep this from happening she only eats wet food, with miralax and water mixed in. I also have a really expensive self cleaning litter box that tracks metrics (weight, weight change, time in litter, etc), we call it her spaceship because it kinda looks like one actually. I bought it for this purpose to keep an eye on her poos. My SO put in another "litterbox" which is actually just an enormous plastic bin. Obviously, she prefers the bin and has only been using that for a couple months. Yesterday I decided that she really needs to be using her fancy potty so I can actually track her data and make sure she's staying healthy. So I closed the door to the tub. Today has been insane. She runs upstairs to the door to her tub and cries. She's used her spaceship today ONLY when my SO or I have gone into the bathroom w her.
I ran out of space. But basically she used her spaceship for a year, so I don't think she's scared of it, just prefers her sandbox. Or wants an audience. Such a weirdo. I love her.

I thought it was a cute Pic of our cat snuggling my slipper, but my kid is all "that's not cool, mom. Def weird." and they say it's my caption that makes it weird. Wtf?
Don't you know that moms are never cool. We also never know what we're talking about even though we've literally been there, done that. 🤗
Load More Replies...This is just a musing of mine. I absolutely love cats, but I think they go a little insane being raised indoors with humans all the time. My Dad tamed a cat that was feral and lived out in his alley for at least seven years. She became his indoor house cat. I inherited her when he died. She was absolutely the sanest, smartest, most well-behaved cat I've ever had. I loved her so much. We had another cat that had been an outdoor farm cat for a year until my husband bought him (before we got married). He didn't let the cat out and that cat was f*****g miserable every moment he was awake. After I split up with my ex, I started to let the cat out. I WAS worried, but all of a sudden, he was so calm. His fur got shiny and smooth. He became more affectionate and better behaved.
