Internet regulars have probably seen various people online post themselves with homemade banners trying to make a point about one thing or another. But few do it as well as the “Dudette With Sign” Instagram page is dedicated to one thing, creator Nisarah Lewis making relatable and funny signs.
She quickly amassed almost a million followers, as folks across the world resonated with her witty commentary and female perspective on the “person holding a sign in public” type of content. Bored Panda got in touch with Nisarah Lewis and she was kind enough to answer some of our questions. Naturally, we wanted to hear if she had ever been approached by someone who saw her signs on the street.
“It’s always, always great when someone tells me the content resonates with them. Since that is the goal after all. A stand out reaction that surprised me was from a man who had to be older than my own dad. He came up to me to say he was a fan of the account and he was like “you make the signs about the purses and the boyfriends” and I thought yeah that pretty much sums up the account. He’s legit.”

I mean it's not ideal...I always say, whoever says sex is like pizza, even when it's bad, it's pretty good, hasn't had enough sex or pizza
We were also curious to hear about how she actually makes the physical signs. “The process for making the signs is just as simple as it looks; just need the cardboard and marker. Improving my handwriting has been the only challenge for me in the process. But glad to say it’s improved over time!”
While this formula is really very simple, just a catchy, relatable or funny slogan on a cardboard sign, Nisarah stands out by having a perfect eye for those everyday annoyances many people agree with. While so many try to use sensationalism to get something, the truth is that just being relatable can be key to making engaging content.
Look at it this way, getting a piece of cardboard and something to write or draw with isn’t hard. Some homeless people manage to do it. But you are not going to end up with 879K followers by making irrelevant signs.

So, instead of a bunch of yelling, wilding, hormone-riddled, drunken people absolutely packing a beach and making a day of it for the local police, you get a bunch of beach chairs, towels, and anything else the older generations feel most comfortable relaxing on, quietly reading books while drinking their favorite cocktails and/or looking through their phones.... or just completely napping the afternoon away? Sounds good to me.
Sometimes there are emotions and needs that people can’t exactly put into words, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Similarly, it can be wonderfully validating to discover that what you thought was a personal pet peeve is actually an annoyance shared by hundreds, if not thousands of people out there.

When I need to carry stuff with me (more than the usual phone, wallet, and keys), I carry either a lunch cooler bag or a laptop bag that I got at a thrift store. I actually have several different bags because they are extremely common at thrift stores and only cost a few dollars each. I have paid about $2 to $6 for each one.

Have you tried a single-strap backpack? (You can find them with the search term “sling bag” or “sling backpack”). I find that it is MUCH more comfortable and also convenient to put on/take off compared to a two-strap backpack. The strap goes over one shoulder and connects near the waist at the opposite side. You can get a bag that goes over the right shoulder and connects on the left side or a bag that goes over the left shoulder and connects on the right side. And I recently saw one that can be switched from one side to the other. Here is a sling bag example: Sling-Bag-...0cc688.jpg

I disagree. Being hot is 50-75% being being good looking. The rest is personality and confidence. I've known multiple people that aren't good looking, but they have good personalities, and they are confident. They never get the results they want, and it's hard for them to date. But "attractive people" never have a hard time dating anyone.

Pick your favorite sport and try doing it. I bought archery equipment because I watched the Olympics, and I thought it would be fun and I would be good at it. I'm not going to the Olympics, but archery is fun. I can't hit the bullseye ever, but I always have tight groups when I do launch my set of arrows. However, I do use a Golden Eagle compound bow from the 90s, and would really like to get a newer type of recurve bow,
