People talk a lot of smack on the internet, and when that happens on social media, then the rest of the world can be fortunate enough to be there to see the glory unfold. From devastating clapbacks to good-natured puns and every other type of delightfully witty reply, a Twitter account called Gems Of Replies is there to document it all - for our benefit.
You know that sensation so many of us get hours after a conversation or argument when we realize - “damn, I should’ve said [X] instead…”? Scrolling through this account is basically the opposite of that as you get to see every moment of glory where someone said exactly what needed to be said.

Aww, it's like a family cremation (please don't come after me, I just have a dark sense of humour - I don't even eat meat)
Oh, you sweet summer child. Have you heard of "religion"?

I accept no lectures on morality from an organisation that acquires pets with the sole purpose of euthanising them.
I just had chicken for dinner and I can confirm it was delicious with the mushrooms.
Load More Replies...That's a pretty great comeback. It makes me think of the Japanese dish oyakodon which translates to "parent and child rice bowl" because it has chicken and egg in it.
Meh. It was nor smart nor a good one. So preditctable and boring.

Saying I'm a vegetarian, but I let others eat what they eat, is not a good answer. Saying I think x is immoral, but I let people do x and dont judge them for doing x does not make a sound ethical argument. Imagine someone came up to you and said I believe killing people is wrong, but I dont judge those who think its not or who kill people, therefore I'm tolerant and based, why you think they are based?
Peta is s**t even this site have made a post about it. https://www.boredpanda.com/anti-peta-hate-rant-dear-tumb1r/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic
Load More Replies...We just had a semi hauling chickens overturn in Portland, Oregon (USA) and PETA thought the best thing to do was drive their box truck (with Virginia plates, so from the other side of the country) covered in images of chickens crammed into crates all over it to Portland and drive around. I am happy to say that someone stole that truck. https://www.opb.org/article/2023/07/06/peta-truck-stolen-portland/
While a nice thought, chooks don't maintain a family unit. Sure, you might have 2 sister hens, but a son and dad rooster will kill each other when he matures.
Would they prefer I just ate my neighbors? I mean, I'm not totally opposed to it...
you PETA could use this same logic on school shootings, or just literally any unhinged US citizen instead of the animals. You kill a cow i eat it. you kill a child.....
Somebody needs to show PETA videos of living Chickens eating dead chickens.
Pigs do the same thing. I used to work in a hog confinement.. if a pig died between the time I was in there to the time I went back, they would eat it. They would also eat another pig alive if it had a sore on it anywhere.
Load More Replies...It's true, last time I was at a cinema with my kids, there was a chicken family there enjoying the movie as well. I pointed them out to my eldest and said "I hope they enjoy themselves, they'll be KFC soon". The film was Chicken Run, if you were wondering.
Just remember, the next time you eat a salad, you're taking food away from more animals, than I take away from by eating a chicken. Or a deer, cow, turkey, pig, pheasant.
I know you don't care, but no, that's not how the math works out. tlDR: you're not smart, you're not funny, and you're not right. longer: How many wolves were killed so you could have your meat, and why didn't they have food to eat (hint, we took over the habitat of f their food to feed our food)? The same extends to ecosystems everywhere, collapsing because humans are taking much more from them than we need to, and a lot of that is because we choose to eat very inefficient food (animals that eat plants or other animals that ate plants, with substantial energy losses in every step, most of which goes into heat, CO2, and methane) instead of efficiently produced food (plants taking energy directly from the sun and processing it into nutrients we are evolved to use easily). While it is certainly possible to overcome the difference in efficiencies from "typical" in each direction, in general the difference is something like switching from a pickup or SUV to a compact car.

I dare them to go tell the Orcas preying on baby sea lions that, or baby grey whales...or the lions that go after baby antelope of wildebeest. It is called the food web, people, and humans are a part of it, not separate from it. Any anthropologist can tell you that humans are supposed to be omnivores.
Hens are generally great mothers, actually. I've even seen roosters who care about their younglings a lot

Better than it being pure USA. If we get exposed to enough Bollywood we'll eventually start understanding the jokes!
Load More Replies...Oh these where such good roasts and more good content more like this please bp
Hey, people are sick of all the USA-centred posts. There's a whole wide world out there, ya know? Other regions have the right to representation.
