"In 2021, the most recent year for which complete data is available, 48,830 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S., according to the CDC". 48,830 people! Slightly over half are suicide. Almost half are murder. A tiny percentage are accidents, etc.

Banning book(s) completely should be illegal. Parents not wanting their kids to read age appropriate material because of the content? Disagree with it, but it's their choice. But getting them banned so others can't read something? Unacceptable!!!! And banned from PUBLIC LIBRARIES crosses into my personal choices. If they MUST be banned for some reason, then several copies should be retained for the future.

These new bumper stickers are part of a growing trend of merchandise made as much to be photographed and shared on social media as they are to be absorbed in the real world.
"We're known as the bumper sticker couple now, I’m sure," Brian Gebhart, 32, who, along with his fiancée, Alyssa Walker, 30, runs Frog Mustard—an unhinged sticker and magnet shop—told McFarlane in an interview. They release a handful of new ones each week.

Some states and politicians are trying to restrict access to birth control. However, the right to contraception is protected by two Supreme Court decisions, Griswold v. Connecticut (1965) and Eisenstadt v. Baird (1972). State laws Parental consent: Some states require parental consent for minors to access contraception. Pharmacist refusals: Some pharmacists refuse to fill prescriptions based on their religious beliefs. State policies: Some states have policies that make it difficult to obtain birth control. So, it is NOT a "false narrative!"

The Democratic Party failed to point out that had Trump shut everything down temporarily until Covid was under control, we wouldn't have had the lingering supply chain problems that led to significant price increases and inflation. That train was running full speed by the time Biden got into office, and it's not a situation that is easily or quickly solved - as Trump himself has finally admitted. Oh, and the price of eggs ain't coming down - it's increasing. Environmental climate change is spreading the bird flu like dandelion seeds on a windy day. Dead birds don't lay eggs, so the few remaining are laying very expensive eggs.

One time (at band camp, not really more like maga in-laws) they had fox news on in the morning and I just started filling in some missing dry facts as the show went on but I was careful not to push it into any kind of political argument. After I did this a few times you could tell the wheels were starting to try to rotate (because come on, its fox news, pretty low hanging fruit to find opportunities) and eventually they just turned off the TV! My partner drives a Tesla, he bought it a few years ago, but we were talking yesterday and he said he'd never buy another Tesla again, he doesn't even want to keep his current one because, even though he bought the car years ago there are still monthly subscription fees that go straight to Elon. My sister has one of the early-gen Teslas (I think 2016) and it has had SO MANY ISSUES. She's had to have the repair squad out so many times at this point that I know their names and I ask how their partners/kids/pets are doing. I like the idea of EVs, but I had advised my sister to wait a few years to let them iron out some of the issues with the Tesla before she bought one, but she just wanted a cool shiny new EV. (She had a still-in-perfect-working-order '06 Benz CLK coupe before she bought the Tesla.) Myself, I drive a hoopty jalopy, a 2001 VW Eurovan that is a hot mess but still runs fine XD I haven't had a new car in 24 years.

Worst thing about President Musk is, he can't be impeached. First of all, he isn't officially in office. Ok, that one was too obvious. Second, if that ever came up, he'd simply buy whatever entity, by then, is in charge of impeachery, rename it into something like "Off'ya!", and make sure that, among all the equals sharing equal rights and rules, he the equalest of them all. Plus, as he isn't a born US-citizen, he's just as limited as Schwarzenegger in that regard. In other regards, I wouldn't know where to even start listing all the shortcomings that Musk has compared to Schwarzenegger.

A lot of people bought Teslas or Cybertrucks before Musk became completely publicly unhinged. (I imagine he's always been insane, it's just become more visible lately.) Similar to my old love for SpaceX - I was born in '82 and was very sad when the Space Shuttle program got completely scuttled; I thought we'd never go back to space in my lifetime, so SpaceX and the Falcon rockets etc. were literal magic to me. I never liked Musk himself, but I loved SpaceX and its achievements so much. As one of those "I want to grow up to be an astronaut!" kids, SpaceX was doing amazing things. Then Musk really lost his sh!t and I don't even know what I feel any more. I imagine a lot of people bought Teslas and cybertrucks before he became a complete cultist tool.

I would be a hypocrite if I said I don't feel like that about cult stuff, but that is rational at least. The political division tho... Just binary like that? As in sending the message that you have literally nothing in common with a whole other group of people based on some artificial two party system? That is bleak and in dire need of change... Either it is going to be more dialog or it will be fester and bloat...and explode...maybe rot and stagnate...

May i suggest the French famous national pastime of protesting? Don't have to go full guillotine mode...Or even keep up with their 6 protests per month schedule... Just one or two...around the places that create this problem. Whatever made lobbysts an almost unregulated thing? I would start there myself...That has to be at least a "line" you can follow to the root of this problem.That is my personal conclusion... ps: Not saying that the rest of the world is better by any means. Each have their own brand of Fed up systems and politics and cults etc... We could all pick the best parts from each country and culture tho D:

I (warily) put a small sticker that says "Successfully Microchipped" on my van after I got my first COVID vax (back in 2020 when everyone was screaming that the government was injecting you with tracking microchips with the vaccine) and I was worried I'd get repercussions even for that (the sticker is like 2" big.) I live in a very blue state, but the city itself that I live in is horrifically red. Then again, my van is 24 years old and pretty jacked up at this point, so what's the worst that someone could do? XD (It's already got a number of scratches, and I have a decal with the Monty Python black knight saying "Tis But A Scratch" next to the worst ones!)

I like to read clever bumper stickers for the entertainment value...they're also a way to express dislike, disdain, dissatisfaction while expressing your smarts at the same time. What's not to like? I don't know how effective they are because their target audience is often too dumb to know THIS MEANS YOU or doesn't get the point in the first place. BTW: I am a lousy parker and I know it. I figure if I am between the lines it doesn't matter if I'm at a 40 degree angle.
