Bored Panda reached out to the mods of misLED to find out more about the subreddit's origins. When asked about the inspiration behind it, Maxiscoolerthanyou, the creator of the subreddit, shared a simple childhood memory: "One of my favorite childhood memories is being in the back of the car, looking out the window while we were driving somewhere. It was a rare, random comedy moment when one of my siblings or I would point out a sign accidentally saying something funny."

This is not a mistake or burnout, but a legitimate warning. In Florida, if temperatures drop enough, iguanas go torpid and can fall out of trees. They are heavy and cause injury or damage. And further, once they warm up, such as if someone picks them up to help them, they can attack. Wild iguanas can be surprisingly viscious. So, no, this is not a joke, but a genuine warning that you should pay attention to if you see.

In Florida we get actual lizard warnings. In cold weather, iguanas can get cold enough to lose their grip on tree branches, and fall on you. Sometimes from a great enough height to do some serious damage to you.

They’re cold blooded, so they go into a dormant state when it gets chilly. That’s when they drop. But they do revive when warmed up again.

Moderating a community like misLED can be quite an adventure. There's a lot to love about it, but if Maxiscoolerthanyou had to pick just one thing, it would be that there's never really any drama or anything serious. "I’ve never moderated a sub before, and I’m really glad it was one that I came up with as well, rather than being made a mod by someone else on an already existing sub."

i was in LA with a friend and (after a very long and exhausting day) we passed a shop with neonsign that said PLARL. "who names his business PLARL" i asked my friend and we were both very confused (and tired) "what does it mean?" she was equally confused as me, and then we passed it, we looked back at it and on the other side the sign said PEARL. I think we didnt stop laughing untill we finally went to sleep :-D

I once saw "HO SHOW." It was for a store called SHOE SHOW but the "S" and E in Shoe were burned out. This was pre cell phone cameras so I don't have a photo. I still laugh about it.
