Who is your favourite teacher and why? It can be a teacher that you still have or someone you had a long time ago.

My biology teacher in middle and high school. She was very serious and strict (think McGonagall) but once you were a bit older she was super intelligent and sarcastic. She was extremely proud of me for wanting to study biology and was one of the few people to be proud of me for doing it. (I got emotional just to remember her cheering when i graduated).
My english teacher in Middle and HS. He was a really brave man to be gay in a chatholic repressed school (that didnt fire him because back then not a lot of people could teach english). He was a really good guy that encouraged us to watch movies or listen to music in english. Many made fun of him for being so cheerful (and gay) but he was awesome and didnt let it stop him.
My fourth grade math and homeroom teacher, Mr. Baken (as in the food) he was really funny, and introduced us to some new books. The best part was that i was definitely learning in his math (although i was ahead of a lot of the kids in my class but not far enough ahead to get into advanced math) it was a bummer he had to move away that summer
My sixth grade teacher, Miss Skelton, will always be my favorite. She loved all of her students unconditionally & treated us all equally. This was during fairly turbulent times in regards to racial equality. I’m now friends with her on Facebook & she will occasionally drop little memories that I had forgotten. She was my teacher in 1972-73. That she still recalls one timid kid is amazing to me, but she does. It isn’t just me, either. She’s Facebook friends with lots of her former students & can recall little things about all of us.
I had so many wonderful teachers. It’s funny, I was thinking about Mrs. Johnston yesterday, 4th grade math. We were all so terrified of her. She had a sharp wit. We went home from school for lunch every day, it was such a small school. She was our first class after lunch. And she would look us over, and call somebody out occasionally, Like, “Gino, you look so sleepy! Did you have pancakes for lunch?” First thing every day was the 100 fact test. We had 3 minutes to write down the correct answer 100 facts like 9x6, 12/3, 17-9, 18+6. The pages were always so cool to the touch, and smelled like the mimeograph. I can do math in my head faster than anyone I know.
My Geography teacher this year, Mr Burns. He's really nice and funny. He tries to use Gen Z lingo with us, but fails miserably and we all laugh. He also lets us do whatever after he finishes the lesson as long as we get the work done at some point.
Mine is my science teacher. He makes lame jokes, but we all laugh. Also, he gives us Jolly Ranchers. He demonstrates things in the most funniest way possible. I understand the material better this way.
