in other words, what was your gay awakening?

In 6th grade we watched the outsiders. There is a scene at the end of the movie where all of the boys are in the house and it is a kind of reunion scene. Anyways, there is a shot of sodapop getting out of the shower without a towel and someone strategically steps in before you can see anything. That boy made me feel some things that I had not felt before and I will never forget that day.

I am female and had a girlfriend once in 7th grade, but something didn't feel right. It didn't feel good to be in a relationship. I decided to do some research, and there was AroAce. It fit me perfectly. I broke up with my girlfriend, and she understood why, which is why she is a great person. I am now single, happy, and AroAce.

As a young woman in university I was getting tired of telling the frat boys no. I dated a few, but I didn’t enjoy it. The junior down the hall, call her Erica, asked if I’d like to come over and relax to some music, books, and really large pillows, quite Bohemian. We began spending a lot of time together, practically everywhere (outside studies of course). One day we visited her mother in Cincy OH. She was renovating a sizable three story industrial building in a residential area into condos. We went upstairs via, of course, a freight elevator. We visited a while, then her mom says “I’m only taking half the third floor. Would you two like the other half in a few years?” Erica and I smiled at each other, and realized we’d been walking around hand in hand. We eventually parted ways, but those were two of the best years of my life.

    There were 3 main ones.
When I cared more about signing a petition that my celebrity crush started than what the petition was. Realizing that we were both female and I still felt that way.

When I was in the 6th grade and I couldn’t stop staring at girls and other generally feminine people and feeling more strongly about them than boys.

When I realized I didn’t care if people viewed me as a boy or a girl and they were wrong either way.
