In bed, curled up against my lover, with our cat purring. Best place on Earth.

Any library. A quiet setting, surrounded by thousands of books waiting to be read, the smell of paper filling the air. What more could you want?

Bear Swamp Lake. A 2 mile hike up a small mountain in Mahwah, New Jersey (US). I grew up playing in those woods, as we lived just on the other side of the state forest. Such a beautiful and peaceful spot.

So far? Jasper National Park, Canada.

The town is such a vibe and the nature is just ... enthralling. About a third of the town burned down last summer, I hope the people are doing okay.

The York Shambles, the absolute intensity of history, culture and folklore, the haunted, spooky undertones if you know the stories, the amount of old things they are still using, all that in a city that already is a historical wonderland. It was like stepping through a time glitch.

Oahu. I went there once for a week, and I just felt... calmer than I have ever felt in my entire life. Something about Hawaii just makes you destress automatically. Plus, it doesn't hurt that the place is beautiful.

Grandma's backyard. Swinging on patio, watching and listening to the birds sing. Surrounded by beautiful trees and plants. With a cup of coffee.

Tintagel. Listening to the waves washing into the inlet was incredibly peaceful.

My TV chair. I have back problems and they are blown away in this chair. It's not the most exciting place, but it's good for me. It's even nicer in winter, with a crackling fire in my open fireplace which is 2 meters away.

this may sound weird, but specifically Pandora (from James Cameron's Avatar) at Disneyworld Animal Kingdom. I've been OBSESSED with the movie ever since I've watched it, making my own creatures, characters, etc etc. it's just... whenever I go there (i've been there twice) the smells, the sounds, the atmosphere is brought to life. it's like stepping into a dream you've always wanted to be real, except it is real, and right in front of you.

In the past: Sleeping in my grandma's garden shed on camp beds with my sister, reading and talking until late at night, listening to the wind in the trees and the owls hooting.

In the present: When our sweet little children climb into bed for cuddles with us on a sunny morning after we've all had a good sleep.

Sitting on my dad's front porch, wrapped in a blanket against the chill morning air, drinking coffee in companionable silence, and watching the sun rise over the treetops, listening to the cows mooing to each other as they make their way to the stock tank for their morning drink.

My favourite place is wherever my wife is. Soppy but true.

I'll cheat and name a couple of places too (because you can't stop me mwuhahaha): Lake Tekapo, New Zealand - it's an amazingly blue lake surrounded by snow topped mountains with very few buildings or electric lights around, and so the night sky is utterly sublime.
I've recently come back from the second place I want to name: The Maldives - we stayed at this resort where we could get out of bed and practically dive straight into the warm ocean. It was like living above a giant aquarium, we just spent the days snorkelling and eating and lazing. Bliss.
