Met a hot lawyer from Grand Rapids, MI. We hit it off, chatted online, talked on the phone and he sounded like a great guy. We both like horror movies, so we decided to go see Hostel. He got WAY too into it. Asked me back to his place (after commenting about what he'd like to do in that situation) I declined and he seemed to take it well. Two hours later, my phone and MySpace blow up. Anyway, he stopped up after a week or so. Probably because he was indited in human trafficking ring that involved police and at least one Judge.

I tried to find the news story to link it, but oh my god, apparently G.R is a human trafficking hot spot. There is at least one story a year including 2024.

About 20 years ago just as internet dating was in it's early stages I'd just split up from a long term relationship and thought I'd try one of these 'new fangled' dating sites. Put all my details in and what kind of person I was looking for and the number 1 match came back and staring at me from the screen was my 1st wife who I'd divorced about 8yrs previously.

I showed up once at a coffee shop for a date, and they never appeared. So, I treated myself to a giant latte, chatted with myself about things I liked, got weird looks from the other patrons, and then took myself to a movie, ate a big bucket of popcorn, and then played Gran Turismo 7 on my Playstation 5. All in all one of the best dates I've ever had!

Guy with absolutely no idea of what "personal space" meant and insisted that his toupee was his own hair and pulled at it to show me, and it slipped off. The toupee, that is. Another man who had served in Northern Ireland during the "troubles" who informed me that his barracks bought a sex doll to share because the local girls were encouraged to transmit STD's to the British soldiers. I don't know if this is true, (the local girls bit) but he went into graphic detail of the state of the doll after a few days. There are worse, but not much, so I must be lucky!

I guy I matched with during a speed dating night stood up and massaged my shoulders and upper back at the table in the middle of a nice restaurant. Everybody was "WTF?", I was mortified and kept telling him to sit down, which he would not. There was no second date, and he was bewildered I wouldn't come back to his place.

Ooof. 1. An ex girlfriend. Block. 2. A few coworkers. And worse it said they were active now. Meaning, while at work, they were looking at Tinder. As I was. Cringe. I had to block them. 3. Female friend/s I had recently spoken to. Again, had to block.

A man who was widowed; I was widowed, so thought we would have at least that in common, and he was decent looking. Nope, it was a ploy for him to present his MLM. I was so surprised at the "give me your money" spiel that I actually sat and listened far longer than I should have. He was big into networking, too, and at the time, I was a full-time teacher, and I'm an introvert. The LAST thing I EVER want to do is talk and listen all day, then do it some more and collect a pile of business cards I'll never use. We just had the one "date" and that's being generous. I gave him no money whatsoever!

Matched on Tinder with a woman that seemed really cool and down to earth by her description. The thing was, she was absolutely gorgeous, like European Model hot, so I assumed it was a catfish. Kept my guard up. But we eventually talked on the phone, she sent me pics of herself and couldn't believe my luck. Had a LOT in common so I was optimistic, even though I thought I was totally out of her league.

Set up a date at a very nice Mexican restaurant. She was an hour late. Things happen. Not a problem. She comes RUNNING into the place, falls into her chair, apologizes for being late and proceeds to take out a small bottle of "Bolivian Marching Powder," asking if I want some. I decline as she heads to the bathroom. Got up, walked out and blocked her. Thank God my next match ended up becoming my wife.
