Parents getting berated and in trouble, other than with police. I used to think parents were the ultimate in authority over kids and teachers and parents would gang up on kids.
Now that I had parented my own human being I created, I've found parents are often the first people teachers and principals scrutinize about anything and everything they find wrong with your offspring.
The internet. My dad is a computer programmer and I used to think everything except Netflix and pbs kids and screensavers were written in python lmao
Paying money to watch tv. I grew up in an exclusively free-to-air tv household. My brother and sister would sometimes beg for us to get pay tv, but I couldn't understand why you would. Now, I still won't pay for tv (or streaming services) but I know how common it is and not just for 'rich' people. I see that it is about range ease of service.
