We all lie about something some of us get caught others don't. Some of our lies benefit us. So pandas what lie did you tell that helped you out?

When I was 12 I lied to my parents (both are working, but they had a day off that day and I didn't) that I was not feeling well, and missed school. But by 11 am I started to feel really sick, and exactly at noon, we found out that I was having chickenpox.

Me: Well here's to a nice day-off 🥂
Chickenpox: Well hello there mudafoka

The whole Grade 8 science class was placed in a 1 hour detention after school over something an unknown person had done, and didn't want to confess to. (Might've have been someone in another grade, for all we knew.)

At the time I was also taking classes at a modelling agency, and it was well-known since the JH was such a small school. The teacher said we can't leave unless we had an important reason. I fabricated that I needed to be home for an important call from the agency at 4:00, and I told them I would be home.
    Success. He let me go.
I wasn't actually expecting a call, but the agency did, in fact, call me at around 4:00 asking me if I would be interested in modelling at a hair convention show.

I was just happy I had an unexpected truth to tell the teacher the next day, and he did ask me how the call went and if I got to be chosen for a show. Phew!
I hate lying, but this was a necessary evil to get out of an unfair, unjustified detention over something that was not my doing.

It's the little daily fibs that help me out the most. The ones you tell to get off the phone, or cancel a date. "I was in the bathroom." "I couldn't get to the phone." They're unprovable, and they hurt no one. Usually.

I lied about my stomach hurting a lot in elementary school just so I didn’t have to go to school. Turns out I have celiac. It’s an auto immune disorder that when I eat wheat rye or barley my body attacks my stomach making my stomach hurt.

Grew up with an abusive father so lying was breathing to me. Worse habit to break later on in life once I went NC with him.
