Kids in class who will be chatting with their friends while the teacher is trying to teach, and when the teacher says "Please stop talking" they instantly go "I WASN'T TALKING!" or they obviously have their phone out and the teacher asks them to put it away they say "I DONT HAVE MY PHONE OUT!" There are like 5 of these kids in my math class and sometimes I just want to strangle them so they'd shut up because they're ALWAYS pushing back against the teacher for no good reason.

I understand why it's used lol. The post asked what small thing annoys us. The upturned voice, if over-used can be annoying, also. It's seems like the "speaker" is unsure of their opinion.
