The one that I have heard a lot recently is petrichor- the smell of dust/the ground after rain. The first time I heard it though was about 10-15 years ago on Doctor Who :)

As English is not my mother tongue, I rarely use strong words in daily convos with friends/family. But I've been using 'Loathe' instead of 'deeply hate' nowadays during informal convos. :)

Animus
1. “Hostility or ill feeling.”
2. “Motivation to do something.”
3. “Jung’s term for the masculine part of a woman’s personality.”
4. “The rational mind.”
Definitions are from google, hence why they’re in quotes; I’m very bad at wording things so I apologize.

(P.S. There’s a specific reason I know this word and if you can guess why, I think you’re pretty awesome!)
