Any event you went through recently that, to most people, might seem like it's just an everyday thing, that actually affected you in some surprising way.

Today in my AP Human Geography class we played a 75 question Kahoot to prepare for our AP exam coming up in a week. A ton of people ended up moving to the front and it blocked the view of us in the back, so everyone just situated so they could see the screen and still talk to friends. Two of my friends sat on tables, some other ones were in the front but they kept leaning back to ask if what place I was in or if I had missed a question or not, and I was sitting in a chair next to a friend on a table with my feet propped up on another chair and he was resting his feet on the edge too. Idk why, but something about the environment just felt so comfortable. I haven't felt as relaxed or unstressed since the school year started and it was nice. I don't even know what was so special about it, there was just something different about the atmosphere.

When someone comments my body, i used to get a lot of sexual comments even as an 8 yr old from men and now I just feel sick whenever anyone talks about my body even if there isn't any malicious intent behind it.

My science teacher winked at me and I just felt like something was so wrong in that moment. My brain started playing recordings in my head. I started calculating the amount of time until I could get away without really thinking. My science teacher called over another girl (who had the same first name as me) and I just tried to shake it off.

But I knew those feelings too well, they were the same feelings that I felt when I saw the man who raped me wink. That one person from years ago set something off, men winking is creepy to me.

This sounds like symptoms of PTSD which you can get from such a traumatic event. Same for me as things like hearing someone running through a house stomping sometimes causes me to freeze up. EMDR therapy has really started to help, but also it's really mentally draining so have to be in a safe place in your life to do it. But I really recommend it as well as therapy with any kind of trauma specialist to anyone who's Been through any kind of trauma.
