"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." I cannot hear this song without thinking of all the people I have loved and lost throughout my lifetime, my husband, my dad, my friend Jill and others. And the people who have just drifted out of my life.

Racing Into The Night by Yoasobi. It sounds beautiful and upbeat, but it is very much not.

Literally anything by Citizen Soldier, Six Pills by Rosendale (I think anything by Rosendale really), Fine by Kyle Hume, The Lonely by Christina Perri, and anything by Skippy. I could name so many sad songs.

This is a good one but I think unless you relate to this song you wouldn't be able to understand the depth of it

Everyone always talks about the Night We Met, but no one ever talks about Lord Huron's other music. The song is called Love Like Ghosts, and it talks about the singer who has endured much suffering in their life, and their intense desire to just be loved by someone... or at least, to convince themselves that they are loved by someone, even if the other party's feelings aren't completely there in return. Example lyric: "Yes, I know love is like ghosts. Few have seen it but everybody talks."

Another song that I strongly recommend is an unreleased song by Alex G called "I Wait for You." This is very close to me because of a personal experience. It's perfect for anyone who has lost a partner, crush, friend, or family member and isn't quite ready to let them go yet.

In the Ghetto by Dolly Parton. Elvis also has a version, but I prefer Dolly on this.

Ghost by Badflower. Doesn't necessarily sound said but the lyrics and how it's sung is absolutely haunting.
