We all wait for those satisfying "I-told-you-so" moments, and sometimes, they do arrive...Mine started roughly 1.5 years ago. I was working as a chef de partie in one of the hotels in my town. It's a kitchen job where you're supposed to be responsible just for your special field (like saucier, entremetier, garde-manger, or desserts). Instead, after about 6 months at this new workplace, I found myself responsible for the whole kitchen whenever the kitchen chef was on holidays or called in sick (which happened every month for at least 4-5 days). I had to handle orders from our delivery companies, manage the administration for paying invoices, and deal with suppliers—all this for a chef de partie wage.To be honest, this included 1.5 years of Covid time when we were not so overwhelmed. But anyway, it started to annoy me. Then I got a medical problem and was out of work for a good month, returning for 3-4 months first with a take-it-easy doctor note. I'm in Germany, where doctor notes are taken seriously. But I found out (it wasn't really difficult) that my then-kitchen chef released an opening for a sous-chef position while I was still in the hospital, in intensive care. Remember, I was officially a chef de partie, paid less than a sous-chef, but doing more. Anyway, I got back and found a new "sous-chef" colleague. That guy messed up everything one can in his first 5 months. I can go into details, but for someone not in professional gastronomy, it would be boring. Enough to say, my other colleague, who had been there for 6 years at that point, quit during this "sous-chef's" third month.I gave him and the workplace 2 more months of patience (there were a lot of professional discussions in-between, of course), but finally gave up myself 2 months later. When I left, I told my ex-kitchen chef, "From now, in 1 year, you won't have à la carte anymore, sticking with this guy. You will have just buffets for groups, and you'll be stuck with him alone. Viel Spaß!"Four days ago, I met that "sous-chef" guy passing by on the street. After I left, they got a new cook who lasted about 8 months. The bar personnel left, the breakfast cook left (they managed to find someone, but...). Essentially, there is no kitchen in that hotel anymore, just some buffets for groups and two guys stuck together.Exactly how I TOLD YOU SO!

Years ago my (M) partner also male bought himself a pair of white lycra swimming trunks that were very revealing and he was a big man. I said you can't wear those in the swilling pool they will be see through when they get wet. Wouldn't listen to me. So, we went swimming in the local council pool. The first time John got out of the water people started shrieking. His trunks had indeed become totally see through. I could not myself from saying "Told you so". He never wore them again.

I'm in that from 2010... I have no socials on my real name, and no co tact with my "family". I'm also livng 4 coubtries away from them, and anybody from my late '20s years-tim. Best decision ever made! The relieving of not giving a single f.uck about anyone in yoiur new country and new life, is fantastic! If you don't have a child, just go for what you ever dreamt!

I'm a petite person, only 5ft tall. Begining week of my senior year in high school (25 years ago) I was walking to class when a couple of sophmore boys who thought it would be fun to terrify a freshman. So one of the boys slams into me nearly knocking me down. His friend yelled and I quote "get out of our way you stupid little freshman." I assume they expected me to break down in tears, but nope I may be a small girl but I'm a tough girl. I looked up at them and said "I'm a senior, thank you." They were stunned into silence as I walked off to my class.

They were stunned into silence because you said you were a senior? That doesn't seem believable at all.

After having mesh put in for an abdominal hernia, I was in some pain for days and when I complained I was told by the nurse that I was on the maximum dosage of morphine and to quit trying to scam more d***s out of them. Finally another doctor came in and listened to me and did some investigation. Turns out I'm one of a very few people that morphine doesn’t work on, I can still overdose from too much but it doesn't stop pain. I was prescibed another pain killer while in the hospital that worked fine. I credit the nurse for coming by to apologize to me for not listening and being rude about it.

i'm not a person to employ 'i told you so' kind of moments but i do have a petty one. my now ex hubby would often try to give me an 'i'm smarter than you' attitude when we were in college. never really bothered me because i truly didn't care and our fields of study were vastly different. but, one day the subject of genetics came up which was in my purview of study. in our discussion i mentioned that, genetically speaking, he was predisposed to baldness based on his family genetics. he denied this and cited the fact that his dad had a full head of hair (his dad is now in his 80s and still has all his hair). but, on his mother's side, most of them were balding. at the time i was studying it was assumed that the genetics were carried by the mother and, therefore, there was a bigger chance of baldness. whether that is still true - who cares!

ran into him a few weeks ago...just like a cue ball.

I have a friend that has bad luck in picking partners. Oh my she just knows which ones not to pick. The last one irked me ever more that the previous ones. I told my friend to now go all in after this one. She just upped her game and tried even harder. The one she was after turned out to be psychopathic narcissist. I could never lay my finger on why I had the feeling but 99% of the time if I tell you a person irks me you can trust me on it. Sometimes it takes time to see the issue and sometimes its instant but boy my spidey sense is accurate

I'm guessing that "now" should be a "not"...otherwise this makes no sense.

I was on the receiving end of this one. A friend of mine and I were at a national convention, and we decided to walk to a local brewery. At one intersection his GPS map said to go one way, and mine said to go another way. I insisted on going the way mine said. He beat me there by more than five minutes. However, he was a good sport - not snarky at all.

Had a former S.O. and sibling get involved with a family business. Before everything I said I thought it was really suspicious the owner specifically didn't want me to look at the books. I told them I thought that probably means the business can't support y'all getting involved and family member just wants to retire and collect a check. Big surprise; business goes broke because it could barely afford to pay the owner and that person naturally blamed the siblings for running it into the ground. Everyone is still bitter about it 15+ years later. Told 'ya so!

When my mom finally said sorry for being pissed at me for no reason. She's the most stubborn person I know, (other than me,) so it felt great. Hasn't said it again yet though

Hang on. Worded badly. She is very stubborn, but it's not like I had been irritably waiting for her to apologize. Also, last sentence I don't even know what I was talking about. Annnnd idk how to edit posts because I'm relatively new to this

Hey, Pierre*, that dude is employed at the store, just not wearing a uniform right now - if you want to proceed steaing those cigarettes, don't compain afterwards! - He did complain.

*: sort of a dude we knew, but nobody considered him a friend, because he'd steal, he'd lie, and he'd always come out atop, for a period of about a week with new people. I don't really know why anyone, including me, put up with his shid in the first place and at all.

Whenever I tell my kids that whatever it is they are playing is getting out of hand and one of them will soon cry or yell or scream..... and then 2mins later it heppens. But then again, as soon as the crying or screaming has stopped, they'll start playing that too rough game again.... so perhaps this isn't a good example. Lol.

Guys at work kept complaining that Gmail was sending legit mail to trash of clients. I said "you need a PTR record and a DKIM". They didn't believe me. Took them years, YEARS to admit they were wrong and I was right.
