I like to write but I’m lacking inspiration at the moment. Any ideas? Thanks!

I’m going to write this anyway but wanted some feedback:
So, what about an apocalypse/dystopian story, but it takes place in the past? Like, late 18 - early 1900s. I’ve been into steampunk stuff lately and I think it’d be really cool to write. The theme is all I have, though. I’m curious about your ideas for characters or plot. Thanks for your feedback!

Space pirates! Alien planets and buried treasure. Plenty of room for creativity with different planets. Prehistoric, aquatic, rainforest, desert, or artic planets.

An alternate universe where animals control society. There are human zoos! There are animals who are advocate for human rights and fight against human cruelty.

A future where all knowledge of out past is lost. There was a apocalyptic event that wiped most of the world out and all technology was lost. This would be the new generation finding artifacts from our existence and making assumptions to what or how these things worked or were used for. Much like modern day archeology. Like finding the statue of Liberty and thinking the New Yorkian people worshipped her like a God. Or like finding a satellite dish and thinking that this was how their ancestors communicated with aliens societies.

If sci-fi isn't your thing how about:

Writing from the viewpoint of a pet or an object.
-I wrote one similar about a betta fish but didn't ever reveal he was a fish or knew he was a fish. So in the beginning of the story from his viewpoint he is kidnapped by a giant and held hosage in a room with a colorful plant.
