the fact that i was the one who actually wanted to do it!
my mom wanted me to play music since i was about 8 and made me try all of the instruments she played: flute, then piano then bagpipes. I don't like to play those. listening to piano is okay but i don't like it and i've been willing to play the accordion since i was 12 and she never accepted. But last year I got one ( diatonic) for my 18th birthday and she's shocked at how fast I've improved compared to other instruments.

but i had to refrain from playing chromatic accordion because it is to heavy forme and i *cannot* lift one up-

I was just a quitter (I never stuck with any extra-curricular activity, even though my mum wanted me to). I didn't like having to take time out of my relaxation time to attend classes and to practice. I did about one term's worth of keyboard. Now I am older I want to take up playing because I inherited my grandma's keyboard.

Well, I wanted to learn to play keyboard just to play some music on my school farewell. Learned it in six months. And then at farewell, we played a game where some students would play the music and others had to guess the song. One of the most memorable day in my life.

I played Still Dre, piano man, Imperial march, and some other music I don't remember.

In 6th grade, when they offered us the option to play an instrument, I joined because it sounded cool. Then I chose flute because my bestie at the time wanted to play flute. After she left the school, I stuck with the flute because band became like a mental health class, a time to forget about the pain in the world and the stress of homework and grades to just play music. It was such a huge part of who I was in school that now, I can't imagine myself without it.
