Dreaming that I woke up and saw my ex next to me. In the dream, he looks at me and says, “I always told you we would be together again.”

I was about 9yo when I had this nightmare It was a dark, dark night. I was petting my cat when my next door neighbor asked me to help unload her car. It was like 2 or 3 AM so I realized she had stolen all these groceries. I went back home (not sure if I really did help unload them) to brushing my cat and saw something in our wooded back yard that was blacker than the blackness already there. I could sense its evil. I felt it moving closer and decided to call the police but just as I picked up the phone, the doorknob started turning. I woke up feeling the panic.
