Lately, the Internet seems to be full of either people with kids joking or complaining about how hard it is (which is true) or people without kids listing every reason why they don't want kids (which is a completely fine choice to make).

As a young mum, I'm just missing the other perspective. So dear parents of BB, no matter if your kid is 5 hours or 50 years old, what's your favorite thing about having kids?

One: having a living reminder that “it’s not all about me.” I need that.

Two: watching my son experience things for the first time sends a much-needed jolt to my sense of wonder.

I'll start myself (post author): To see the world through her (11m) eyes. Every new day is full of amazement and possibilitys for her, and now I also get super excited to see a Dog or a leave or grandma or whatever, it's really fun!

Also, that I am someones very favourite. Me entering the room is the single best thing that can possibly happen in her world. She wouldn't give a s**t about Oprah or Obama or a Million Dollars entering the room, but seeing me she lights up. And also knowing, I AM the best that can happen to her. I am absolutely not a perfect person or mum, but I would do everything for her and love her more than I could ever imagine. It won't last forever (the her being happy to see me part, the other part I think will), but now it feels amazing.

Ugh, not much until they are past their 30s and a bulb lights up over their head. And, it’s, oh, yeah, they did raise me right!
