What is your favorite song and why? I have a whole playlist specifically for my favorite songs so it’s really hard for me to choose just one. But I thought and thought and eventually chose one that was at the bottom of my playlist, but held high sentimental value. Someday by Nickelback is a song that my older sister listened to when she was in high school and for some reason, I loved this song when I was a kid.

When our parents weren’t home, she would play her music without headphones, but when she’d get to that song, she would turn up the volume really high and we’d “dance” to it and roleplay the characters from the music video. Nowadays, I’m not too fond of it because it got overplayed, but sometimes I’ll pull it out of the old bucket and revisit those memories… But what about you Pandas? What’s your favorite song and why?

"Never Gonna Give You Up"

We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy

I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching, but
You're too shy to say it
Inside, we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it

And if you ask me how I'm feeling
Don't tell me you're too blind to see

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

(Ooh, give you up)
(Ooh, give you up)
Never gonna give, never gonna give
(Give you up)
Never gonna give, never gonna give
(Give you up)

We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching, but
You're too shy to say it
Inside, we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it

I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

    Lava
    Disney Short Animation:
I love this song it just cheers me up a lot and when I'm feeling suicidal it warms me up just like chocolate. :)
    A long long time ago
    There was a volcano
Living all alone in the middle of the sea
He sat high above his bay
    Watching all the couples play
And wishing that he had someone too
    And from his lava came
This song of hope that he sang out loud
    Every day
    For years and years
    I have a dream
I hope it will come true
    That you're here with me
And I am here with you
I wish that the earth, sea, and the sky up above
Will send me someone to lava
    Years of singing all alone
    Turned his lava into stone
Until he was on the brink of extinction
    But little did he know
That living in the sea below
    Another volcano
    Was listening to his song
    Everyday she heard his tune
    Her lava grew and grew
Because she believed his song was meant for her
Now she was so ready to meet him above the sea
As he sang his song of hope for the last time
    I have a dream
I hope it will come true
    That you're here with me
And I am here with you
I wish that the earth, sea, and the sky up above
Will send me someone to lava
    Rising from the sea below
    Stood a lovely volcano
    Looking all around
But she could not see him
He tried to sing to let her know
That she was not there alone
But with no lava, his song was all gone
He filled the sea with his tears
    Watched his dreams disappear
As she remembered what his song meant to her
    I have a dream
    I hope will come true
    That you're here with me
And I am here with you
I wish that the earth, sea, and the sky up above
Will send me someone to lava
    Oh they were so happy
To finally meet above the sea
All together now their lava grew and grew
No longer are they all alone
With Aloha as their new home
And when you go and visit them this is what they sing
I have a dream I hope it will come true
That you will grow old with me, and I will grow old with you
We thank the earth, sea, and the sky we thank too
    I lava you
    I lava you
    I lava you

This is really hard, I listen to a lot of music of different genres.
I would have to say these are my top ones though (in no specific order),

Golden Days- Panic! At The Disco
    Remembering Sunday- All Time Low
    Cough Syrup- (Glee Cast Version)
Far Too Young to Die- Panic! At The Disco

these are some of my top songs (excluding the genre of musical theatre showtunes)

    Demons Nightcore

    lyrics

    When the days are cold
    And the cards are fold
    And the saints we see
    Are all made of gold
    When your dreams all fail
    And the ones we hail
    Are the worst of all
    And the blood's run stale
    I wanna hide the truth
    I wanna shelter you
    But with the beast inside
    There's nowhere we can hide
    No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
    This is my kingdom come
    This is my kingdom come
    When you feel my heat
    Look into my eyes
    It's where my demons hide
    It's where my demons hide
    Don't get too close
    It's dark inside
    It's where my demons hide
    It's where my demons hide
    When the curtain's call
    Is the last of all
    When the lights fade out
    All the sinners crawl
    So they dug your grave
    And the masquerade
    Will come calling out
    At the mess you made
    Don't wanna let you down
    But I am hell bound
Though this is all for you
    Don't wanna hide the truth
    No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
    This is my kingdom come
    This is my kingdom come
    When you feel my heat
    Look into my eyes
    It's where my demons hide
    It's where my demons hide
    Don't get too close
    It's dark inside
    It's where my demons hide
    It's where my demons hide
They say it's what you make
I say it's up to fate
    It's woven in my soul
I need to let you go
Your eyes, they shine so bright
    I wanna save their light
    I can't escape this now
    Unless you show me how
    When you feel my heat
    Look into my eyes
    It's where my demons hide
    It's where my demons hide
    Don't get too close
    It's dark inside

As a music lover it was hard to pick just one. But right now my favorite song is

Good Old Days by Macklemore ft. Kesha

I wish somebody would have told me babe
Some day, these will be the good old days
All the love you won't forget
And all these reckless nights you won't regret
Someday soon, your whole life's gonna change
You'll miss the magic of these good old days
I was thinking about the band
I was thinking about the fans
    We were underground
Loaded merch in that 12-passenger van
In a small club in Minnesota
And the snow outside of 1st Ave
I just wanted my name in a star
Now look at where we at
Still growing up, still growing up
I'd be laying in my bed and dream about what I'd become
Couldn't wait to get older, couldn't wait to be someone
Now that I'm here, wishing I was still young
    Those good old days
I wish somebody would have told me babe
That some day, these will be the good old days
All the love you won't forget
And all these reckless nights you won't regret
'Cause someday soon, your whole life's gonna change
You'll miss the magic of the good old days
Wish I didn't think I had the answers
Wish I didn't drink all of that glass first
Wish I made it to homecoming
Got up the courage to ask her
Wish I would've gotten out of my shell
Wish I put the bottle back on that shelf
Wish I wouldn't have worry about what other people thought
    And felt comfortable in myself
Rooftop open and the stars above
Moment frozen, sneaking out, and falling in love
Me, you and that futon, we'd just begun
On the grass, dreaming, figuring out who I was
    Those good old days
I wish somebody would have told me babe
That some day, these will be the good old days
All the love you won't forget
And all these reckless nights you won't regret
'Cause someday soon, your whole life's gonna change
You'll miss the magic of the good old days
Never thought we'd get old, maybe we're still young
Maybe we always look back and think it was better than it was
    Maybe these are the moments
Maybe I've been missing what it's about
Been scared of the future, thinking about the past
    While missing out on now
We've come so far, I guess I'm proud
And I ain't worried about the wrinkles around my smile
I've got some scars, I've been around
I've felt some pain, I've seen some things, but I'm here now
    Those good old days
You don't know, what you've got
Till it goes, till it's gone
You don't know, what you've got
Till it goes, till it's gone
I wish somebody would have told me babe
Some day, these will be the good old days
All the love you won't forget
And all these reckless nights you won't regret
Someday soon, your whole life's gonna change
You'll miss the magic of these good old days

It has great messages. Like, "don't forget your past" and "don't grow up too fast."

In one part it says "but girls are learning how to cut and paste, and pucker up their lips until they suffocate". It sadly true . If you weren't born with it ,you can buy a couple ornaments. Just be sure to read the warning, kids .'Cause pretty soon you'll be bored of it" It pointing at ornaments as makeup..

    I’m happy for you,
    I’m smiling for you
    I’d do anything
    For you
    For you
    But its always for you,
    And never for me
And i need it to stop
    So lemme tell you please.

    I’m always sad
    And I’m always lonely
And I can’t tell you that
    I’m breaking slowly
    Closed doors
    Locked in, no keys
Keeping my feelings hidden there is no key
And i need it to stop
And i wants to be able to open the door
    But my feelings are fatal...

    Turn off the TV
    It's starting to freak me
    Out it's so loud
It's like my ears are bleeding
    What am I feeling?
    Can't look at the ceiling
    The light is so bright
    It's like I'm overheating
    This mind isn't mine
    Who am I to judge?
    Oh I should be fine
    But it's all too much
    I get overwhelmed so easily
My anxiety creeps inside of me
    Makes it hard to breathe
    What's come over me
    Feels like I'm somebody else
    I get overwhelmed so easily
    My anxiety keeps me silent
    When I try to speak
    What's come over me
    Feels like I'm somebody else
    I get overwhelmed
    All of these faces
Who don't know what space is
    And crowds are shut down
    I'm overstimulated
    Nobody gets it
    They say I'm too sensitive
I can't listen cause I'm eyeing the exits
    This mind isn't mine
    Who am I to judge?
    Oh, I should be fine

First, the why...(never forget the why behind your actions, folks)
Fore note - I'm a huge believer in the power of the Universe & I've always worked in 3's...

    So...
I was suicidal. I had my foolproof plan & all the means to execute it. Just needed the opportunity...which wasn't coming at my house.

On *3* different occasions, I got in my Jeep to find some remote location to follow through.

ALL 3 TIMES, the first song that came on the radio was 'THREE Little Birds,' Bob Marley & The Wailers.

A forever fan of music, I'd NEVER heard that song. (?!?)
I knew it was a message...

Obviously, I believed that every little thing, gonna be alright.
Those lyrics were also one of my 1st tattoos.
    So, yeah...

Favorite song EVER - Three Little Birds (Bob Marley)

    [Verse 1]
People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin
When I say that I'm okay well they look at me kind of strange
Surely you're not happy now you no longer play the game
People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me
When I tell 'em that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall
Don't you miss the big time boy? You're no longer on the ball

    [Chorus]
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

    [Verse 2]
People asking questions lost in confusion
Well I tell them there's no problem
    Only solutions
Well they shake their heads and they look at me
As if I've lost my mind
I tell them there's no hurry
I'm just sitting here doing time

    [Chorus]
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go

well, currently it's probably Truth Be Told by Matthew West. not including whole lyrics but here's a bit:
Lie number one you're supposed to have it all together
And when they ask how you're doing
Just smile and tell them, "Never better"

Lie number 2 everybody's life is perfect except yours
So keep your messes and your wounds
And your secrets safe with you behind closed doors

    Truth be told
The truth is rarely told, now

    Love Yourself: Answer by: BTS
A few years ago, I was struggling with depression and self confidence. Every day I would put myself down convinced that I was not good enough. I was scrolling through YouTube on my bed when I found this song. It really inspired me and was the start to my healing process. Now I am happy and couldn’t be more thankful for BTS because they taught me how to love myself. People often make fun of me liking K-pop, but I don’t mind because it is because of BTS that I am still here today.

"Absolute beginners" by fantastic David Bowie!
It is the first song where I paid attention to the lyrics, which completely delighted me. It totally fits into some life situations of me and my family.
By the way, the most important thing in songs i love is a good and "contagious" rhythm. But, this song...idk. It's my hymn, forever song.

When I'm sad and want to sulk I listen to Migraine by Twenty One Pilots because the lyrics "thank god it's Friday cause Fridays will always be better than Sundays cause Sundays are my suicide days" pretty much sums up my emotional lows.

When I'm sad and don't want to be sad anymore i listen to Lemon boy by Cave town because It has a melancholy tone but is still kinda upbeat and optimistic.

Moral of the story by Ashe because it reminds me of fake friends

“So I never really knew you
    God I really tried to
    Blindsided, addicted
Felt we could really do this
    But really I was foolish
    Hindsight it's
    Obvious
Talking with my lawyer she said
    "Where'd you find this guy?"
I said, "Young people fall in love"
    "With the wrong people sometimes"
    Some mistakes get made
    That's alright, that's okay
You can think that you're in love
When you're really just in pain
    Some mistakes get made
    That's alright, that's okay
In the end it's better for me
That's the moral of the story babe
    Oh, oh
    Oh-ooh-oh
    Woo, oh
    Oh-ooh
    It's funny how a memory
    Turns into a bad dream
    When running wild turns volatile
Remember how we painted our house?
Just like my grandparents did, so romantic
But we fought the whole time
Should have seen the signs, yeah
Talking with my mother she said
    "Where'd you find this guy?"
I said, "Some people fall in love"
    "With the wrong people sometimes"
    Some mistakes get made
    That's alright, that's okay

    Woo, oh
    Oh-ooh-oh
    Oh, oh
    Oh-ooh-oh
    Woo, oh
    Oh-ooh
They say it's better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all
That could be a load of shit
But I just need to tell you all
    Some mistakes get made
    That's alright, that's okay
You can think that you're in love
    When you're really just engaged
    Some mistakes get made
    That's alright, that's okay
In the end it's better for me
That's the moral of the story
    Some mistakes get made

I'm a pretty big audiophile. I have music of all kinds for all times of the day, depending on my mood. But there are a few that, at anytime that I listen, I just can't help but love. For me, the longest and oldest favorite is Eyes Half Closed by Crywolf, the song is a dubstep but the story it tells with the ensemble of instruments implemented is something I listened to loud and proud. It was something that always managed to sweep me away. Recently, the close second is Pay No Mind by Madeon. This song is something that I need to remind myself from time to time. I'm generally a confident and exuberant person, but even people like myself aren't always stalwart. There are times when things just weight down, this song is not only a phenomenal beat and melody concocted in such a way that gets you excited and moving but it also has a myriad of wonderful lyrics and meaning behind it. (It's primarily aimed at females but uh... everyone can take something away from it.)

"Status Quo" from the musical Starship. Starship is a musical made by the wonderful Team Starkid, and it's a musical about an alien bug who dreams about becoming a Starship Ranger instead of just being another average bug in his hive. Before he gets on the ship in a human body, the song starts. The song is about questioning what the people around you tell you to do, and deciding for yourself what you want to do with your life. The whole musical is great to be honest.

I love Taylor Swift songs. My favs are from her album Red: Holy Ground, Red, and State Of Grace. While it's not my favorite, I've found that I find peace in singing one of her songs from Lover to myself during lockdown.

    'Soon You'll Get Better'

The buttons of my coat were tangled in my hair
    In doctor's-office-lighting, I didn't tell you I was scared
That was the first time we were there
Holy orange bottles, each night I pray to you
Desperate people find faith, so now I pray to Jesus too
    And I say to you

    Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better
    Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better
    Ooh-ah, you'll get better soon
    'Cause you have to

I know delusion when I see it in the mirror
You like the nicer nurses, you make the best of a bad deal
I just pretend it isn't real
I'll paint the kitchen neon, I'll brighten up the sky
    I know I'll never get it, there's not a day that I won't try
    And I'll say to you

    Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better
    Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better
    Ooh-ah, you'll get better soon
    'Cause you have to

And I hate to make this all about me
But who am I supposed to talk to?
What am I supposed to do
    If there's no you?

This won't go back to normal, if it ever was
It's been years of hoping, and I keep saying it because
    'Cause I have to

    Ooh-ah, you'll get better
    Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better
    Ooh-ah, you'll get better soon

    Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better

Another one that I really like and sing to myself to relieve quarantine stress:

    'Change'
    Taylor Swift

And it's a sad picture, the final blow hits you
Somebody else gets what you wanted again and
You know it's all the same, another time and place
Repeating history and you're getting sick of it
But I believe in whatever you do
And I'll do anything to see it through

    'Cause these things will change
    Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
It's a revolution, the time will come
    For us to finally win
And we'll sing hallelujah, we'll sing hallelujah

    So we've been outnumbered
    Raided and now cornered
It's hard to fight when the fight ain't fair
    We're getting stronger now
    Find things they never found
    They might be bigger
But we're faster and never scared
You can walk away, say we don't need this
But there's something in your eyes
    Says we can beat this

    Because these things will change
    Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
It's a revolution, the time will come
    For us to finally win
And we'll sing hallelujah, we'll sing hallelujah

Tonight we'll stand, get off our knees
Fight for what we've worked for all these years
And the battle was long, it's the fight of our lives
But we'll stand up champions tonight

It was the night things changed
    Can you see it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back fell down
It's a revolution, throw your hands up
    'Cause we never gave in
And we'll sing hallelujah, we sang hallelujah
    Hallelujah

So many to choose from, but let's try a Norwegian one

Det umulige e mulig (The impossible is possible) - DDE
[Much of this only makes sense if you get the fairytale / story references]

The hand let go of the playpen - The first step was taken.
We never looked back on what we left behind.
We were to find the treasure behind the seventh hill
and save the princess from a mountain of glass.
Travel east of the sun and west of the moon
and land in a airplane on the Red square.

We knew that the impossible was possible
the windmill succumbed to Don Quijote
We beleived (in) the uneblievable: (in) Soria Moria castle

And they said it was (all) illusions, we'd realize that in a few years.
We left childhood behind- the future was ours.
We were to dumbfound a politician, house the homeless in the king's palace, clothe them in the emperers old clothes,
and land in an airplane on the Red square.

We knew that the imposstible was possible

They could never silence the politician
at the sight of a magpie and the horn of a goat.
The dragon hid it's treasure in Switzerland. Blind hens never find grain.
The starving princess has no peas,
she sleeps on an earthen floor without a mattress.
The troll didn't burst at the rising of the sun,
but an airplane did land on the Red square.

We knew that the imposstible was possible, the windmill succumbed to Don Quijote. - We beleived the uneblievable: (in) Soria Moria castle

"An Enigmatic Encounter" from Undertale Last Breath. Has these "I'be got nothing to lose vibes" and it's amazing.

Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You
    Sung by Joe Sun

Downtown tonight, I saw an old friend, someone who
I used to take comfort from long before I knew you
I caught a spark from her eyes of forgotten desire
With a word or a touch, I could have rekindled that fire.

But no one can hold a candle to you.
No one can light up the night like you do.
Flickering embers of love, I've known one or two.
But no one can hold a candle to you.

    Revolutionary;
    Maybe you're not like me
    Maybe we don't agree
    Maybe that doesn't mean
    We gotta be enemies
    Maybe we just get brave
Take a big leap of faith
Call a truce so me and you
    Can find a better way
Let's take some time, open our eyes, look and listen, yeah
And we're gonna find we're more alike than we are different, yeah
    Why does kindness seem revolutionary
When did we let hate get so ordinary
Let's turn it around, flip the script
    Judge slow, love quick
    God help us get revolutionary
    Whoa oh
    Revolutionary
    Whoa oh
    Let's get, let's get
    Whoa oh
    Revolutionary
    Whoa oh
    I'm turning the TV down
    Drowning their voices out
'Cause I believe that you and me
    Can find some common ground
See maybe I'm not like you
But I'll walk a mile in your shoes
If it means I might see
The world the way you do
Let's take some time, open our eyes, look and listen
And we're gonna find we're more alike than we are different
    Why does kindness seem revolutionary
When did we let hate get so ordinary
Let's turn it around, flip the script
    Judge slow, love quick
    God help us get revolutionary
    Whoa oh
    Revolutionary
    Whoa oh
    Let's get, let's get
    Whoa oh
    Revolutionary
    Whoa oh
    What would Jesus do
    He would love first
    He would love first, hmm
    What would Jesus do
    He would love first
    Yeah, He would love first
    So we should love first
    Why does kindness seem revolutionary
When did we let hate get so ordinary
Let's turn it around, flip the script
    Judge slow, love quick
    God help us get revolutionary
    Whoa oh
    Revolutionary
    Whoa oh
    Let's get, let's get
    Whoa oh
    Revolutionary
    God help us get revolutionary

This just makes me think about every thing that is happening right now, it's called revolutionary, and you can find it on youtube or this link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6glQdaQUZ1U and it's just a really powerful message/song

Another one of my favorite songs is See you again by Wiz Kalifa and Charlie Puth. Because it reminds me of my dad's best friend, who passed away two days ago. He was like an uncle to me and my dad's only friend... R.I.P uncle Kris
