Russian olive tree blossoms have the nicest fragrance I can think of. Mornings after rain, an intoxicating smell. Fir needles, pine sawdust. I missed all these beautiful smells when I lived in Asia, but there were frangipani blossoms to make up for them.

Home. Every house has its own scent but home, to me at least, always smells relaxing. It's a curious blend of coffee, teas, whatever perfume I've been using during that time frame, cats, and years of family life. If "home" doesn't count as an answer, then how about "a blooming lilac bush on a warm rainy morning"?

This might be super weird but I also like the smell of petrol, concrete sealer, some medicines and paint thinner. There is also a leathersmith shop that has a rustic burning fire inside, I enjoy the smell of the combination of the fire and the leather. I don’t like the smells on their own but together is a different story.

Not neccessary a ‘favorite’ smell: When I was about 7 or 8 years old, at least one winter I had pneumonia and bronhitis a few times, and I received a lot of antibiotics. It was a fluid and I had to take a spoon full every day, or maybe twice a day. It was supposed to smell like raspberries, but it was a bit of an artificial smell.

Years after that, whenever I smelled that particular raspberry smell, for just a few seconds I used to feel sick again, and only when I was 18 or so, I realised it was that smell that brought back the memory of being ill.

Real raspberries smell a bit different, but whenever I have e.g. yoghurt with (artificial) raspberry taste and smell, I still remember this, and it’s about 50 years later now.

I've had an experience just like this! When I was a kid, whenever me and my siblings got carsick, we threw up in an empty 'fresh scent' hand wipes container. Now, to me, 'fresh scent' wipes smell like vomit. I can't stand them.

Then I love cinnamon raisin bread baking in the oven and I do love how Jo Malone Cologne smells and this is only a start on the smells I love! One other thing I want to add I love cigar smoke because it takes me back to when I was 5 o 6 years old and my uncle smoked cigars. I never smell cigar smoke and not think of him.

Hmm... I don't know if they're my favorite smells, but ones I really, really like, for sure!

First off, that scent that I almost always smell during/after toasting marshmellows. I think it comes from the little wooden sticks I use to toast the marshmellows. After a while of slipping the marshmellows on and off of the stick, I guess it develops a little residue on the wood, so the next time I put it into the fire, it's got a mixture of burnt marshmellow and burnt wood smells. I spend a lot of time sniffing the stick after it, smiling because it smells so nice. Unfortunately, the smell doesn't last all that long, so I only get about 10 sniffs out of it before it completely fades away and I've just got a little stick up my nose. But gosh, it that a splendoricious smell!

Second off, the smell of a nice, somewhat-old book from the library. I read Warriors and Foxcraft, so every time I pick up a Warriors or Foxcraft book from the library, I open to very first page, and take a looooong sniff. It's the old, memory-holding pages that always make me forget every bad thing in existence for a short, short moment. That's one of the reasons behind my passion for reading. :)
